Definitely cool man the power klaw is nicely done with the stripes. I'm painting the same model now and personally think it's a great character. Good work.

I really got into the little details too. I kind of wrote it off with it being a snap-fit mini from a boxed game, which usually aren't the best, but it's a great sculpt! If I eventually do an ork army, I'll probably use him as a Nob though. He doesn't have enough dakka or Urty bits to warrant being a warboss. Or he's a broke warboss

Adding little things can make him slightly more 'ard than what he comes with as standard. I've put a Flak helmet over the skull on the right shoulder and mounted a nice humie marine head on one of the spikes of the banner pole. I'm sure I read somewhere that there's no trophy an Ork likes more than a Space Marine head. I'll post at some stage without hijacking your thread

Loving the little details you've included - mostly the little verdigris effects.
It is a surprisingly nice model it has to be said - not at all what you'd expect of a 'snap fit' model - mine ended up getting mounted on a warbike... If only I could persuade myself to get round to painting it....

Fantastic! I've always really liked this model, and you've really nailed it. How did you do the stitching on the leather on his back? Or the leather itself for that matter?! Excellent job on the basing, too, as always

As always your painting is awe inspiring and quite frankly...intimidating.
But I do have a suggestion if you would like to hear it (read it): the teeth/mouth look too dry to me. Is there any way, or would you want to, put a shiny coat of sealer or something in the mouth to make it look wet?
I'm not saying your mini is lacking in any way I'm just throwing out a suggestion is all.

Haha! Orks with cottonmouth I think the stitching was done with scorched brown then bestial brown on the back pack bit, and khermri brown up to kommando khaki on the trousers. I kinda make it up as i go along rather than having a set way of doing browns, although I think that's what it was!

I'll see if I can persuade myself in the next couple of days then 3ff3ct... my Ork army has been a bit neglected recently (Xeno filth that they are )

Thanks I just got him back after he had a brief holiday in GW Liverpool's display cabinet. Although loads of other models I have painted were in there, they don't count as they were done when I worked there It makes me very happy that he was appreciated!

well it hasn't arrived yet...bloody first class post falied ~_~ should hopefully arrive tomorrow. and then it's in a pot of pink paint. cuz that's as well as i can paint haven't got the paints or brushes to do a lot of detail work, find most of the time it just rubs off other paint or messes too much with the original colour. Like i love the wash on the muscel groves, looks how an ork is, dirty and loving it if i tried it it'd mix with the base coat and go pale.

A coat of good primer will keep the paint from rubbing off and allowing the model to dry between layers will keep the coats from blending together.
Time and practice is all it takes!
Oh and 3ff3ct, that's an awesome Ork by the way!
I love the skeleton.

Ymmot some of my paint is getting old and a bit past it but i work for the NHS so...
Anyway back on topic, I hope to see more of you're greenskin army soon 3ff3ct! But i do agree maybe a drop of glue or water effect on the mouth would be a nice touch.

That's a lot better than what I can do with Orks. I'd like to see more. Well done! I need me to get an Assault on Black Reach box set.

Necro! rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd rename this one and stick in a few of my gorkamorka orks. I apologise for the pics, they're not up to my usual standard, the light is a bit crap as it's an overcast day (in England! Who would have thought!?) As always, C&C is encouraged. Enjoy!
