Lovely, rusty, spikey kans; it's brilliant that you've even named them..

Have you been using the yellow shade? I had no idea this existed. Although I will look into it, as it surely can only improve my painting Thanks for the comments and praise guys! ;D

Greetings, Minion! Prilladog has been kind enough to make me aware of his awesomely awesome Armageddon campaign weekend, and I am pretty much going (missus' permission pending). As a result, I've had a look over my army and noticed a few areas where I haven't finished stuff off, or where I am lacking things all together. A 1k list is nearly there, although a 2k list is also required. As James May would say; Cock. So I'm going to paint everything I need up to a 'table top' standard, which in my books means a pretty basic paintjob, with main colours blocked in. This will be done in a way so I can go back and finish everything off at a later date if need be. I'm also going to get busy and build the last mob of Kans and another Deff Dread, as well as another Mek, which I can either buy last minute or finish off a conversion I started a while back, that never really got past the 'bits in a jiffy bag' stage. So yes, the picture is of a very hastily constructed, basic rust and one layer of yellow Claptrap kan. Maybe that should be Klaptrap? My Boarderlands obsession is creeping across to 40k I figured that if everyone else hates that little robot as much as I do, it'll be a great fire magnet and take the heat off the rest of my army I'll be blocking in other areas (glyphs, lights etc) too although it may be some time before it gets the full scrapyard scratches and weathering treatment. I'm also doing a classic Kan with a converted rockkit launcher to add to the Mob of Miscreants, although I may scatter them though the other two mobs for a bit of variety. In conclusion: -This thread will be being updated semi-regularly over the next month or two -The painting may not be spectacular, although it will hopefully suffice -I should have a pretty sizable painted Ork army by the end of it!

I've blacked out the tyre and eye lens, and it looks a million times better already.
A note to everyone though, don't skimp on plasticard. I used a CD case thinking it'd be OK. It was a right pain in the arse!

So I've done the basic colours on the two Kans I started the other night. Luckily I had already cast up some bases, so I gave them a quick once over too. It really pains me that there isn't any kind of shading, highlighting or much weathering going on, although I have to think of the overall army rather than the individual models. From 30cm away they don't look too different from the others really. Best Robot Ever. I think I got this one in a trade (Chem?), it was a bit tricky to get together, and it was quite strange painting metal. I forgot how heavy these things are! I also finished the orks from my missus' Gorkamorka mob, again to a basic level, although quite tidy. I dug into my stockpile of high quality, well painted resin bases (at a low low price ) so I saved myself a bit of painting time there, and I think it will help them blend in with the finished models. I also did five more orks after these, although I'll take pictures as a treat when I've done the next five.... Me and my horde armies. When will I learn!

Soooo...
I've been extremely busy with work, bases and Foster's Thunderbolt project, although I have been chugging through the boyz quite merrily. They're pretty much done, apart from 3 which I need to build out of bits as I have a couple of holes in my mobs.
I'm off for half term next week, so I intend to crack on with my projects, so expect some pictures (weather pending) and some more fun stuff!

I no longer have any friends.... Just to let you know my levels of dedication, I will be making the trip down from STIRLING as my missus has organised a week away, and decided on that week... Nothing a bit of swearing on the motorway and a cold beer afterwards won't sort out

I've arrayed out the finished boys. Go me! As you can see, there's a few short on the back mob, so I'm going to build some up and get them sprayed and painted. I think 3x 20 boys should be sufficient for the games. I've also started finishing of the second dread, which I think will be named 'Kuddles' as it's a rather friendly looking thing Har Har Har Then there's a couple of extras to flesh out the list to 2k, as well as making up some Deffkopta bases and getting those cast so my arial annoyance units blend in with the rest of the army. I had a good fiddle with them and managed to get some fun conversions going on. I'll be adding different heads to the pilots too for a bit of variety. Pictures when I'm done!

Prepare for the green tide! I like them, I like them a lot! And in such a number they look even better. Good job on them, waiting for more.

Thanks guys It was really frustrating painting them, as I was itching to add details on! Luckily from 'gaming height' the half-cooked ones don't really stand out, so I think that'll statisfy my OCD Ork painting for now!

Double Post Ov Deff I have sucessfully painted my Orks! Hoorah! Or is that Hoo-Waaagh? I'm having a drive down to Essex this evening ready for the campaign tomorrow, I'm very excited and will be taking lots of pictures as I'm sure everyone attending will have great armies. I'm off to the library to print off my army lists (as I've already packed my printer for moving house!)
