yeah man... i voted for your cans on the comp thread... theres just so much going on, on these models... rust, chips, custom freehand painting... every time i see cool ork models i fancy getting a few to paint myself... although i suck at painting green skin... just dont come natural to me...

Thanks dudes! I painted Orks as I HADN'T painted green before, at least not a 'natural' green. It took a bit of getting used to although now I quite enjoy it! Yeah I have a problem with adding details, If I see something I can detail then it gets done! My girlfriend commented on the Kans just before christmas, as they were the only thing I took to paint. "You've nearly finished them in two days!" she said. It was true as I had painted about 90% of them. The rest of the time was all chips, washes and little lights! If you have a couple of Orks lying around have a go, they're good fun to paint and make a nice change from the clean-cut guardsmen

A bit of an update, I finished off the 3rd Kan from my Kan Mob the other week, and have been waiting for an opportunity to get good pictures. I think these do it justice. The base is one of the 60mm ones that I cast myself, although it' not perfect I'm very happy with how it turned out, and luckily I can make millions more as I add more walkers! I have 'Daddy Dread' sprayed up and ready to go, although I have a few other bits to finish off before I can start it.

This is really nice 3ff3ct. Your previous mob had a lot more brown for the metal this looks a lot more real.

Cheers guys! I've just realised I didn't black out my base rim It has the same lights/cabling OCD as the last ones did (no wonder it takes so damn long to paint anything!)

do it, do it, do it! Someone has messaged me over ebay requesting a death roller to go with it, so there may well be more pictures to come if they win it. It'll be a good send off for it, I'm pretty sad to let it go. I haven't told Charlie (my 3 year old) yet as he loves attatching and un-attatching all the magnetic bits

Another update, I've finally finished off the Runtbot that was gifted to me quite a while ago. It was already built and painted, so I had to respray and do the best I could with it. The details are great, and I wouldn't mind doing another at some point, perhaps with a few modifications to make it a little different from this one.

Brilliant glowing effect on the eyes there on that monstrosity of steel. A new avatar too..
If the claw was sturdy and made of steel it would make for a decent bottle-opener.

That looks fantastic and you're right about your wet blending skills! I'm only just about to start OSL on that sword project you've helped me with, so I feel a little bad for wanting to add something...
If I may though, I would have liked to see some red on the front leg.
If the area was so dark - and/or something was so close to him - that the light from his eye would reflect right back into his face, then it stands to reason that there would also be some light reflected onto almost all prominent front faces, such as his knee and front foot.

Yeah, this is true, you mean the 'thigh' bit? I agree totally. I might stick a really thin glaze on at some point, as I know that this will bug me now every time I see it Still, it was good practice
