Nice paint job on both of them. Creed is a classic. If I ever did Catachans, I would steal that model design from you. Kell is well painted, but I think his pose is a little awkward. That may be due to Creed, since he is in such a great and realistic pose.

That may be due to Creed, since he is in such a great and realistic pose. Yeah, I tried to get Swanson to look like the Kell mini as much as possible, but I don't quite think I pulled it off. I think his powerfist upper arm might be a little too long, along with the pole for the standard. It took me a couple of tries, including an abortive GS attempt, to get the powerfist arm together, and I'm not totally pleased with the power sword positioning... I'll work it into Swanson's fluff that he's Criid's somewhat awkward friend. Feel free to nick the idea for Criid, I'd be flattered. ;D Heh, it might be cheaper to buy the bits and make your own versions.

I assume it would, but then it'll never get painted and sit in my draw for 2 years. Heh. I feel your pain on that front. I have too many armies that I've collected over the years, and not enough time devoted to painting several of them...

Just a suggestion regarding hellpistols (and it really is just a suggestion - your conversions look brilliant ) - when I had a go at making some home grown hellpistol variants, I used bolt pistols, but replaced the barrels with laspistol barrels. This gives a bulkier, more powerful/thicker casing look and feel to the pistol, but the barrel helps to retain the las legacy of "hell-" weaponry. Really wanting to see the rest of your force now

Really wanting to see the rest of your force now I could see that looking really cool, actually. When I converted my Marbo (will have to take pics of him) I used a bolt pistol with the barrel off of a plastic sniper rifle to make his Ripper pistol, and it wound up looking really cool. I'll have to keep your idea in mind for future conversions...

Your powerfist is the main problem. If you ever redo the model, consider removing the powerfist's elbow. The sword arm is forgivable, everybody has a few models like that even after a lot of practice.

The sword arm is forgivable, everybody has a few models like that even after a lot of practice. I may wind up tearing that arm off and removing a bit from the flesh part of the upper arm to shorten it a bit. I'm thinking that taking half of it away, from the distal portion, would give a better-looking length. I rushed the conversion, and should have taken more time eyeballing how the parts fit together...

Nice job on everything except for the bandanas, with that many dots, you lose the detail as soon as you pull the models far away and becomes mushy.

We seem to be on the same wavelength with our conversion ideas, jerbat! Thanks for the compliments! ;D I've got a couple of Chimeras kicking around, but haven't taken any pics of them. Some are completely detailed, others are only "table top" ready. I'll have to start taking some pics of my armor pieces. My Sentinel powerlifter kit arrived, and I've done the base assembly on it. However, it looks like it won't fit on the base I was thinking to use when the cargo pallet of alcohol drums are added in, so I ordered what I hope it a larger base that I can put the diorama on. nice job! it is nice to see someone making catachan soldiers look right. Thanks, unluckyguardsman! ;D

Yeah, the ivory handles on the Hellpistols was actually an idea that was suggested to me by a staff member at my local GW. I thought it was pure win, and went with it. Patton FTW! ;D He also suggested using the Valkyrie door gunner to make a Fleet Officer that would fit in better with a carapace armored Catachan command squad. The stock metal Fleet Officer is a bit too aristocratic looking... There's actually a relatively close up shot of my Master of Ordnance on the second page of this thread. He could almost be General Criid's twin brother, seeing how as they were made mostly with the same parts.

very nice.. i like the women... all cadians need women even the hardest nut needs women every now and then Thanks privateflippy and marbo! Yeah, I figure those objectives will "motivate" my troopers properly. At some point they will be joined by my grain alcohol dump objective, which I've slowly been working on--been sidelined the past two weeks due to aggravating an old injury, and then getting sick. More pics to come.

Thanks, Hetlan! I may or may not have done and exact replica of your Creed...*Cough*. I am flattered, and want to see a photo! ;D Oh yes, the alcohol dump objective is almost finished. I completed the Sentinel and glued sand to the base today. Waiting for the glue to dry, then I'll paint and highlight the sand, and the job's a good'un! Hopefully I'll have pics soon.

The Imperium is so backwards they store liquor in metal barrels? Blasphemy!
That is a really great job you did on the objective. I like it, especially the colors on the Sentinel. Did you use washes to bring out the detail?
