Rolling Thunder: it's with your comment that people have made them for years and 6th edition isn't going to be special for them. can use them before with any edition you wanted as a conversion. Uhmm... I must confess I don't quite understand what you're trying to say. Sorry.

Vegna - isn't the stuff in the PM just the things shown in the spoiler vid on the GW website?
(a summary of which I had posted at the bottom of page 21 of this very thread?)...
Not to worry!, and thanks loads for sending me the PM!
Regarding the paimon source:
this seems to be a very good source.. I trust it.
In brief:
Vehicle shooting is unchanged exccept that any weapon that isn't allowed to fire normally can 'snap fire' which only hits on a 6.
Snap Fire - no blast weapons can snap fire... and in overwatch no heavy weapons can fire.
Units firing in overwatch fire S3 AP - and cause D3 automatic hits (not totally sure I read that right)
Units only overwatch when being assaulted (firing at BS 1 unless booseted by psychics).
Units only fire at one assaulting unit (not once per assaulting unit).
Buildings and walls are available at points cost.
Flyers are in (Stormravens are listed as Codex Space Marine).
Psychic powers sound really potent... lets hope the points costs reflect this.
Deepsttrike is a little nicer, but you still can't assault after arriving.
Warlord / Commander Traits - a whole load of buffs to choose from.. seem pretty cool.
Wound allocation works from closest to firer, but having a terminator at the front of a load of grunts won't give the rest of the unit a 2+ save. (not sure of the mechaninc but sounds good).
Vehicles have Hull Points, a glancing hit will count as removing a Hull point, once they're gone it is wrecked.
Certain close combat weapons have AP... though sounds fairly generic - ie: power weapon = AP3 (with the exception of a Heavy Chainsword which is AP5).
At 2000 points you can choose to start a 2nd FOC
Allies are in.. some kind of mechanic about what involvement they get.
Cover is 5+ unless it is a ruin.
Skimmers / Flyers can jink and get 5+ save (seems to effect their next turn shooting though)
Jump Packs have assault bonus
there is more.. but those seemed the bigger chunks from the source ... he may answer more questions later today though.
So far it all sounds quite good.. but needs to be explored in context to get an decent understanding of whether it balances correctly. (there is no race specific FAQ in the rule book, so expect some to appear on the GW website... I hope)

so snap fire means before they can assault your unit or vice versa, they get to fire anything that isnt a blast weapon at BS1? hmmm that might make flamers better for a front line unit and GLs for squads being kept back.
could someone please explain this overwatch thing? heard it was coming back from a previous ed.

I think the over watch rules means you can shoot and possible wound enemies that are trying to assault you.

I wanted a gamers edition, I got my parents to agree to advance me the money for the work I'll do in the summer, and it is no longer on the site. When did it sell out if anyone knows?

Hmm, perhaps we'll get more race-terrain, considering at the moment we have barricades for Orks, a Bastion for Chaos and the rest is imperial.
But I doubt it. Not like GW to think these things through.

Not like GW to think these things through. I'm more concerned that units with a good armour save will not need to spend points on cover and can focus solely on their units. Another indirect buff to the Power Armour boys.

Heard from one of the players at my local shop last night, that after 2000 points the FOC effectively doubles. Now he was excited about this because, as an ork player, he can now field 300 boyz and pretty much just muck up the map with rovering mobs. Anyone hear anything else about this?
