I usually use Tallarn Flesh/Elf flesh 50:50, a very light wash of Ogryn flesh and highlight with Elf Flesh. It looks quite pale compared to most skin tones I've seen. A wash and re-highlight might sort this out though

The pale look is on purpose. But the wash just went wrong. Maybe I should thin it out and retry with more subtle amount of washing?
Btw, do people think I should keep the first scout pictures? I feel like removing them from this blog.

Yeah a thin wash is always a good idea as you can always add more

I really need some help to finish these two pieces. First of I think this small terrain piece need some more colours, but I don't know really what more to add. And a small free hand warning sign: Also I need some help to finish this Son of Sek. I think I will give him another coat of sunburst yellow, wash him with ?? and then highlight him with sunburst yellow. Finish his base and do something about his face. All suggestions are appreciated! (sorry for the blurry picture) All feedback is much appreciated.

A sponge with some chainmail should add some nice chip effects to your water condenser looking thing (I don't know what it is, it's cool though!) Try washing the yellow with watered down Dark Flesh, it works well for me

I think if you give the tanks some weathered effect it would make it look more natural? Touch of rust here and there. Also the bit that joins the two tanks together: get your green stuff skills out and make a valve on the bit that sticks up, or even just a leaver for opening closing the tanks. Don't know what they are supposed to store, but if they are a supply tank, you might want to have pipes running from the main tank into the ground. Drinking straws might be good for this. Another idea is to give it some security. Stick a fence round it, or even traces of where a fence was. Finally, you might want to give the base a little attention. Maybe a couple of weeds near the tanks, or a few tufts of grass and stones to give it that extra dimension.
Am I right in thinking they are made from deodorant cans?

Am I right in thinking they are made from deodorant cans? Haha, no the base is a old creditcard, so very wrong about the size. But thanks for the suggestions, both of you.

On another note I have painted the Son of Sek finish and taken some picture him, the terrain piece that is also done and my girlfriend stole one with me painting with the pigs. Here they are: Son of Sek with lasgun: Terrain with Sons of Sek: Me painting with the pigs: I will continue working on my two Rzakata Legionnaires when I'm done with the pizza. As always comments and criticism are very welcome!

Soap: Thanks mate. 3ff3ct: The fat one is the boy (castrated) and the thin is the girl. And what's up with my hunch-back? Maybe I should stop sitting so much at the computer. Yea, I'm really surprised how got it came out.

The Rzakata Swift Expedition Bike (also known as SEB)The SEB is armed with several blessing from the Adeptus Mechanicus. The first and most important is the engine which is surrounded by specific noise dampers, which decrease the sound and heat from the engine to a minimum, which also makes it very hard to see on thermal imaging. The engine is turbo charged and can reach a speed at 300 km per hour (on flat terrain). In difficult terrain is where the bike really shows its value. The SEB can drive through all kinds of terrain from high mountains to water filled swamps. The wide tires ensure a good grip on whatever surface the SEB needs to go over. The SEB is armed with either twin-linked bolters or a grenade launcher both of them attached with an infrared scope to increase aim and chance of hit. A strong auspex is installed on the bike to inform the driver on nearby targets and can send the data to other squads to inform them on enemy position. A vox-caster is equipped on the bike so even from great distances the driver can relay information to other squads, making the SEB ideal for scouting missions. The entire bike has been given a camoline coating hiding it in all types of terrain, on the move or if it’s sitting still, the SEB is a silent and fast killer ready to spring its trap on unaware opponents. Hope you all like it, and as always comments and constructive criticism is very welcome!

GREAT looking Ranger! You used the same painting procedure...right? Thank you, Jackal. Not precise, I have switched the Charadon Granite out with Adeptus Battlegrey, because I found the other to be too dark. But else it's the same. I still don't know how you had the patience to do all that camo... Me neither, I'm considering painting them special ops black instead. But painting black seems difficult to make good.

So I have run into a "serious" problem. I need around 90 modern combat axes to my Rzakata 8th. Something like these: & I have looked through every games workshops products without luck and on several conversions websites. I saw some on ebay a few months back, but they are gone now. Any suggestion to where I could find what I need? Really need some help with this one! Also if I'm going to buy armour from Tamiya should I go for 1/35 or 1/48 scale? Thanks in advanced! Try these guys, good stuff! www.maxmini.eu/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=15

I'm going to buy two primers, black and white. But I don't know which brand I shall choose. Army Painter, Citadel, Modelmates or Montana Gold. What do you suggest?

So I got creative, and I thought I would practise my green stuff skills with a try at a truescale space wolf. Here are the work in progress as I thought I would let the greenstuff stiffen up till tomorrow. And here with a shot comparison to a normal human. I don't have any clay shapers, but I hope to acquire some soon. Also all comments and criticism is welcome since I could use some wise words.

The one thing that has always urked me is that GW says that SM's are 8ft tall, but they do not protray them that way in their sculpts. If you make the fluff that way, then do the same with your figures... The one whom we do not speak of secretly had something to do with this 25 years ago Im sure...

Actual, I think that it isn't the space marines there are too small, but mostly the guardsmen who are too big. Forgeworld have happily made their guardsmen smaller, but not enough. Because orks, nids and eldars are supposed to be big or tall as well.
Maybe one should build an guard army out of smaller scale men?

Tau also are shorter. In 40k, no models are true scale, you want to try and get those 12 guardsmen in the chimera? Be my guest, just don't ask me to get 6 ogryns in there . To be honest though it doesn't bother me too much though, as otherwise it wouldn't be the same, as all the men would have to be smaller, the same size but vehicles would be huge, and impossible to move around in dense terrain, and they would cost an absolute fortune, oh, they do...
