Yea, you can buy 1/35 scale military model kits for cheaper (and more expensive). But I guess your right. But I'm really happy I'm making him truescale. He seems much more intimidating and space marine. Compared to my other miniatures he looks huge and feels much more epic that the standard marines. Also it is good for my GS skills.

I'm making an order from wayland games tomorrow (and using their free shipping code), and would like to know if you have any thoughts on something I really had to buy that would fit my rzakata legion, sons of sek or would be good to start some throne agents. I had planned to buy a space marine scout set, Catachan Heavy Weapon Team, Cadian Command Squad and Catachan Command Squad. But as I said I'm really open for suggestions for more experienced people.

first, don't order from wayland games, according to posts I read from Cosmic and Kirsten, they are awful with their customer service. Apparently they both placed orders, waited a month for them to be dispatched, and then to find out after that month that Wayland cancelled the orders. Figure I could try and save you the headache. As for things you have to have, go with what you feel man! What makes you tingle inside when you look at the pictures of it online?

3ff3ct: Thanks man, glad you like it. It now stands half primed as I ran out of primer. *Facepalm* @kriegeirk: I have bought one time before from Wayland Games and there really wasn't any problems. They answer on all my helpdesk mails and the amount of money I save from buying there is amazing. Else I won't be able to be in the hobby. But thanks for the heads up.

No problem, figured I'd try and save a potential headache if you have never ordered from them before. I think what happened to Cosmic just happened recently too. So just incase it happens to you as well, you both can infiltrate and remove the heretics in charge of that place

Thanks mate. I think they are just getting much more interest and costumers than they actual can handle. This is actual the first bad things I hear about them. But I hope everything goes well.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. Just to prove that I am not dead, here are some WIP of my truescale space wolf. (The stripes on his chainsword is a killer to do.) I am going to paint his base now, and then going to give him a devlan mud wash. Any critique or suggestions before the wash comes on?

I have painted the base and given him the wash. Barrel will be drilled shortly. I tend to do highlights after washes, and will do that tonight as well. Else I hope to try some battle damage on him and some snow with baking powder. I think I can get done before I go to bed.

So this is how he looks now:I'm really close to repaint all of the fenris grey and give it another try on battle damage and on the highlights. I'm not in anyway satisfied with him. Else he just needs a touch up on the black wolf mark, the decal and some snow on the base. Can't decide if I should repaint the blue, please help. What do you think? I really need some help and advise to finish him.

If you're not happy with it, do it! ;D There was a really good guide in WD a while back, which is also in the 'eavy metal masterclass' book, you might find it helpful if you want to give him an awesome paintjob to match your awesome conversion

Thanks 3ff3ct! I'm going to buy a shadow grey today, and then redo the blue parts. I don't have the 'eavy masterclass' book. Is it worth all the money?

Don't open those boxes!
1/35th is far too big for GW scale. I actually have that German weapon set from when I built 1/35th models, and the K98s are about as big as a Guardsman. The same goes for those fuel cans. They'll be huge, so be careful about what models you put them on.

Too late! I was thinking that must of the GW weapons are "heroic" and way oversized already. It's actual not so bad, the assault rifle is 1mm longer than a lasgun and the pistols are smaller than the laspistol. With some work I think it do able. But I should have bought 1/48 as well I think.

Well, 1/48th is actually a touch too small. .50 cal machine guns are about the size of a lasgun, maybe a bit longer, but much more puny in terms of their dimensions.

Even the 1/35 is puny. But if I buy accesories like jelly cans again it will be in 1/48. But I think I can make it work with this, just keep an eye out!

MMMMM jelly cans now i would love to see an guard officer with an mp40. Might be cool as marbo's special pistol. I think i have a bunch of the 1/35 weapons at my parents house. If they work out for you and you want them, let me know.

Soo I got a package today: It was a very nice package: This will kick start my Sons of Sek again! I took some pictures of the 1/35 scale weapons to compare with 40k, and here they are: Some close-ups: It is really a sin to be sitting at the computer with all of the nice options I have now.

Added some red and a layer of Ogryn flesh. I will give them some more washing and then highlights. The wash doesn't show too well on these pictures, which makes me feel like giving up on them. I soon want to be done with these, they are starting to get annoying..

They look pretty cool. My only thought is that the torsos seem a bit bulky. I like that powerfist on the commander, though. What is that power fist arm from?

Thanks Pyro. The Sons of Sek are described as top-heavy and bulky. It is from the Space Wolves pack set.

The highlights are good, I think they need shading to add definition though. Washes are your friend...
