@ commy col mael... not meant to be a holo sight but more like a part of the heavy bolter that remained after strip and rebuild of his one off weapon manufactured in edens armouries... i imagine that that part contains a laser for quick target aqisition while firing from the hip. ok so heres my finished leman russ... mostly inspired from the abrams seen in battlefield 3... made a pannier at the rear of the turret to allow storage of troops bergans, camo rolls and ammo tins still needs insignia, but will consider this when i fully decide on my vehicles marking schemes. ive given the tank a small amount of dust around the tracks with the mig pigments. also this weekend ive managed to paint another 5 man squad of ratlings as apposed to the previous squad, ive lightened up their ghille suits to blend into the sands of eden better. also added acu patterned bandannas and caps to them to fit with the rest of the lightsiders. should have much more painted this week... ive decided to hold off conversions to paint up some squads, now im using the army painter desert yellow primer insted of chaos black its much more faster and effecient to paint up my troops... hope fully they will also look brighter and less dull that the ones ive finished to date.

I really like those ghillie suit you have made for the ratlings. Really giving them the sniper and stealth look. The tank looks a bit dull, because of the singe main colour. But I think it will work better when there get some numbers and symbols on. Even that doesn't does it, you can always do a small part of weathering where you want the eye to fall on the model.

Great as always, Love the ratlings. Your tank is very well executed but as Gerner said, when you give it the markings and maybe some weathering and scrathes would liven it right up!

Ashot, when i say you are awesome, i lie, simply because saying your awesome is an understatement... of the year... and the year's only just started.

I couldn't agree more. The Chinese are going to have to make 2012 The Year of Ashotninja. I don't really understand how your stuff keeps getting better and better....

thanks, i appreciate the really nice feedback... not sure i really deserve a year in my name LoL ... although (without sounding big headed) actually the fact that im getting better at painting is kinda bothering me because as my skill improves, so does the style in which i paint the models, the first ones i painted back in september are way different than the style i use now to paint troopers and vehicles... im having to repaint most of the stuff ive previously done to fit with the newer stuff.
i think now i have settled on a method and are using this from now on...
insted of black undercoat, im now using army painter desert yellow, the method i paint the camo is a base of my special foliage green , black wash, two stage dry brush of foliage green but lighter, with watery white spots. trooper armour gets a base of iyaden darksun, devlan mud wash then bleached bone drybrush backpacks are 'coat'd'arms' olive drab, gretchin green drybrush then black wash. skintones vary depending on my mood, usually tallarn flesh base, ogryn wash then 'game color' elf skintone highlights.
tanks get the desert yellow spray basecoat, 75%devlan with water mix wash, then i apply a drybrush of iyaden darksun drybrush, multilpe layers of very watery citadel desert yellow to open areas (this takes hours to get a clean finish) ... then lastly gets a bleached bone drybrush and highlight.
with these methods in place , i can finally get a uniformed look to my army.
hopefully i will finish this army in time for the 6th edition rules to come out... after which i will turn my efforts to either of these three new projects. Arbites army. official assassinoriam army. or a spartan styled space marine army.

=) i'll probably never have a uniform army.. i just cant do it, i get halfway through a squad and get bored, which is why i like marines so much, each marine can have quite obvious differences but still be able to fit into a squad.

Nooooo you changed the tank light colours ?! Still looking great but I just felt that the green lights did the models more justice, made them look all ghost recon desert storm style night vision kinda look. If ya know wat I mean .
Dude, if the Spartan themed Space Marine army in question is Halo Spartans (I was semi pro if H3 and Reach and played in tournaments lost to THO Impact mlg). Anyways Halo themed SMs would fit niecly with your EDF (ref. warthogs, etc...) so yeah would love to see that

Looking good. I like the extra stowage on the tank and the ghillie suits are really well made. Too bad they cover up so much of the actual mini though. Can't have everything I guess.
Can I ask why you chose to give the Exterminator an LC? Usually the Exterminator works best with three heavy bolters. Any special thoughts behind this one?

@ Egon... well the reson i put the lascannon on the exterminator is just that they were to only two weapons that i finished at the time, the whole model is magnetised so i can drop in and out any of the guns... @ commy col mael... yeah the standard tanks and transports will have the plain desert paint, but i plan to camoflauge any emplaced vehicles ie... arty and the destroyer... mainly because they are static vehicles and in real life would need to be concealed to be effective. ok... so you might had noticed me moaning about how crappy the basilisk kit was, well regardless i think i have improved the look of it... and here it is. im still working on the crew, and currently bidding on old basilisk lmetal loader models... hopefully il win them... i plan of having 3 crew members, one is working the targetting gear on the left, and two will be handling the shells... its gonna look quite crowded on the platform.... the other option is i create some kind of automatic loader, like a giant shell magasine attached the the rear of the breach... it all depends on wether i win the auction. other notes are i have added straps to the backpacks on the rear... i initially stuck them on and thought it looked dumb because they were magically stuck to the back... also ignore the horrible mess of GS on the rear track armour... i still need to sand that down. should get it started painted tommorrow, i may even finish it in one evening.

Looks good as always, really like the computer control system. I had imaged a closed basilisk coming from you, but this thing is a beauty. I think maybe a homemade gunshield would fit? Don't know, just throwing ideas out.

Good work ninja. I always found the basilisk cannon abit bogus to be on the back of a tank though...

few more pics of things i finished last week... Melta Vet squad Named 'Sams Scorchers' used the max mini beret heads, which are ok... not the best sculpts about, mainly because the berets are kinda gay looking, not the rolled over side wearing style i wanted . squad consists of 3 melta, demo charge, vox.... and a random shotgun cos i felt like it... as well as an auto pistol because i like the look of it. wanted the squad to be a good mix of races, i was thinking of throwing an ork in the mix but decided to keep this squad to a certain set theme. next up is another EDF hero (commissar stand in) i havent named him yet, but im really happy with how he turned out... im really liking the blues im introducing to my armys look, at first i kept a very military styled pallette but i feel i need to brighten up the normal colours with some bright ones... im not too sure on the red power cable but i think it suits this model. thanks for looking

I'm loving the use of the Catachan officer mini as the base for your Commissar! Regarding the melta vets... Is the squad sergeant supposed to look like Saddam Hussein? If so, you nailed it! If not, well you nailed it! (In that he looks like Saddam.) With the Basilisk, I'm generally liking the barrel extension, however the hydraulics behind the added muzzle brake look a bit out of place... Have you thought about removing them and having the sides of the barrel just run into the muzzle brake?

Awesome models, as usual lol. I did prefer the juicy green lights on your vehicles though and especially on the RPG temas. I just really like that realistic "Rangers" feel they have. Mind you the blue still looks like the dog's gonads. Nice job

holy....are those Guardsmen wearing ACU??
Ashot, this is so damn good it's blowing my mind, reanimating me and blowing it out again!
This is so good....and the Green stuff...by the Emperor, brother, you're a genius!
I need to do this on my Guardsmen....chest mounted ammo pouches, drop leg equipment, real world camo. I think i'm going to try multicam now

Just wondering, how have you done vox casters if you have done them at all?
