Yup, I've got a Warhound ;D I bought it off ebay (the first picture is the listing one) shortly before the christmas period, and it arrived today. I've dry fitted it and it goes together nicely The paint job isn't fantastic, although I am looking forward to repainting it anyway! it's going to get painted in the Legio Ignatum scheme, like the one on the Forgeworld website, although it may get some freehand and banner details too I knew that by buying it from ebay it was second hand, although the chipped undercoat has revealed it to be at least third hand. To strip or not to strip? It came with a base that has since been discarded, as I feel a full resin model with a retail price of £300+ should get something a bit better than foamboard. My 'father-in-law' (not officially yet) is a dab hand at woodwork, so I'm thinking an oval MDF base with some cool stuff on to show it off and tie it in with my other armies and my game board. Unfortunately one of the Moderati (right one) is missing, and although I have emailed the seller to look for it I'm not too fussed about making one, or even casting a new one (as I want to try mould making/casting anyway). The head/cockpit, torso, hips and legs are all fixed at the moment, although the carapace, weapons and servitors aren't, which will make painting inside a bit easier. This is a long term project for the year, and I won't be doing anything with it untill I've finished my GGVII entry. This thread is to record my progress and get tips/input off everyone so I can make my titan as awesome as possible!

Just under £200, which although is a LOT of money is much less than a new one would be

If it does show up, I'll be sure to bring my doom fortress. No point having a titan if it can't assault a doom fortress...

Its actually funny now that I think about this.
A few days ago, I was a helping a friend go through a bunch of old books. I opened up a particularly old one about some christian crusader to a random page, which turned out to be the start of a chapter called 'Defensor Fidei'. Its funny because I knew what it meant because of all the latin people use in 40k.
Then, I see this thread, titled 'Defensor Fidei'... Coincidence, maybe. probably not though...

* Farther looks strangely at me* Sometime Dave you amaze me with how Yorkshire you actually are ;D I'd definately recommend saving for one Dave, I've not been this excited about a model for a while. I used money from my relatives for christmas and the commissions I've been doing, and still have a bit left over for turbo lasers/inferno cannons maybe Walrus, that is uncanny. I'm a believer in 'everything happens for a reason', so maybe it's because you read that that I named it! Was this crusader destroyed on Hydra Cordatus too? ;D

Oops my mistake! I read the typo as a Yorkshire accent and thought it was Dave! Hahaha! ;D No offence intended @cosmic: I'm going to try and get it done for the meet-up, although if it's not finished I'll bring it along anyway. I'm sure the plasma blastgun will still make smoking craters despite the Litanies of Paintjob not being applied

Are you sure that's jealousy you're oozing? Mr.Cosmic! ;D Having had a good look at all the pieces over a couple of cups of coffee, anything that can fit into a large jar and a sandwich box will be stripped, as I feel that adding yet more paint on top of the ~2 coats already will obscure the detail. The carapace is going to be touched up by hand or possibly using the airbrush if I have to, as it is neat although a little patchy. Unfortunately the body has begun to be painted in a non-metallic metal style, so I am going to airbrush all the metal parts back to a dark metal (possibly boltgun metal/chaos black 50:50) and highlight up from there. The weapons are going to be airbrushed the same colour, for the same reason A trip to Tesco to get some more Dettol (they must think I drink the stuff!) and a week to soak/finish my GGVII entry and we should be ready to go
