Those axes are amazing, I wish I had your free hand talent. Hopefully, the titan won't be doing to many 'death or glory' stunts....

Those axes are amazing, I wish I had your free hand talent. I think an art degree and more patience than I knew I had came in handy. I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off, although I'm pleased with what I've done. If you want to do some, go for it! I'm sure you'd surprise yourself Hopefully, the titan won't be doing to many 'death or glory' stunts.... In the background, Warhound crews are the crazy ones (like sentinel pilots) so I thought it would be appropriate I've now finished the freehand (WAAAHOOOOOO!) and have stuck all the toes on and basecoated the main body. I've added a few extra details from the Leman Russ kit (the little eagles) and plastered loads of purity seals onto the shin guards to add a bit of character, as although the paint job is pretty unique, I didn't think it reflected 10,000+ years of service and glory As those of you in the UK may have noticed, the weather is awful so I can't get any good pictures at the moment Although I'm sure there'll be lots when I can get some good light! ;D As always, thanks for your input and 'encouragement'

Done a dry fit, everything's looking good so far! I've now attatched all the toes and started on the main body, and have started on the base. I sealed the base with watered down PVA so it wouldn't absorb any glue I used. I added details from my bits box to make a street, and have done the rubble piles with milliput with bits of sprue stuck in. I plan on adding more, although I've had a very busy weekend and haven't had the time to spend on it!

I appreciate the moment has come and gone but I also liked the red first letter. The base looks really good. Then that's painted up it's going to look just right, the scale is good and the gothic street lamps and wall/pillar decoration is perfect for a war torn Imperial city street!

I think enough lascannons and tanks could drop one. They're good, although not invunerable I've done a bit more on the base, a few rubble details, cleaning up the dead ork and some debris. I think another evening of adding bits and it should be done, then it'll get sprayed and painted up. After that, it'll be back onto the titan! I do need to go paint shopping, and i'm a bit concerned as to how the new paints will match with the old ones.... Edit: I thought I'd avoid 'double post of despair' and say that I've now finished the base and should hopefully get it painted today, depending on wether or not I can get it sprayed.

A bit of proof that I haven't given up on Fidei ;D I've piled on the details, and need to make sure they're all picked out once they're painted. I'm going to add some shell castings and general debris (I was thinking of posters or similar) as well as some tufts of grass and things. I want it to look like a hotly contested warzone, being fought with battles of attrition, with several months/years of fighting evident. The Ork is from the Michevious Grots set that GW do, I thought it'd be a fun little touch and add a bit more detail. I might do some wet effects gore coming from underneath his hand once he's finished, and maybe a pool of it to lie in (for added grusome!) I've also been working on the weapon mounts and the gun servitors, although I'm finding it difficult to get a pallid/rotten skin tone on the skin. I don't want them looking fresh, yet don't want them to look rotten. Necrotic would be a good medium! I'll put pictures up when I've reached something I'm happy with.

This thread has been buried for a while, so I'm not surprised you missed it! I've done a bit more today, namely magnetising Fidei to the base. I did this by using 8mmx6mm magnets and a drill. I don't think I've done anything as scary in my life as take power tools to a Forgeworld titan! Anyway, six of these beastly magnets in total went into the toes, and I drilled corresponding holes into the base and had some lunch. Then I came back and put the magnets in the base, securing them with milliput and superglue. Unfortunately, I put them in the wrong way around. So here's a series of photos showing how I got them back out again! I used another magnet to find where the magnets were in the base, then drew a circle around them. I then made guide holes, and drilled in with a 4mm bit to make a little hole. Then I turned the base upside down, found a screwdriver and a hammer, and smashed the magnets back out again. Never have I been so pleased to see the light! There was some slight damage to the base, which I'll fix up easily enough with some new bits. I'm going to milliput the magnets back in tonight, which will hopefully be dried the right way round tomorrow morning ;D

OK, they work now. ++tantrum ended++ Amazing stuff!!! really like the details you're putting into the base, it really makes the model. I don't know if you want to use this idea, but why not have some models having a close quarters fire fight on the base. You could buy some of those muzzle flashes and it would be awesome!

This does indeed sound awesome! I think I'll have to see if I can get it finished first though (I can always put extra models on once it's done). The magnets have set in the goles and I can now hold the titan upside down by its base. Job done! ;D

Gimme a N! Gimme an E! Gimme a C! Gimme an R! Gimme an O! Today the warhound was found in a box as I was unpacking, and since I've had a super boring day I did an hour on it. I've attatched the 'shin pads' and pinned a few of the sub-assemblies together to improve sturdyness when it's finally put together. I also ordered magnets for the weapons, as I realised that this was a block on me getting it finished off. Hopefully they'll arrive in a week or so. However, as this project has been all along, it was a case of 'one step forward, two steps back' as after attatching the shin pads and putting Fido to dry, it decided to nose-dive off the table Both legs have sheared off at the knees, although luckily only the superglue snapped, not the actual resin pieces. So now it will be pinned together again, which will add a bit more time onto the project! I am also regretting the paint job a bit, as I feel that over the past year and a half my painting has improved vastly, and I could have done something spectactular. As it stands, I'm going to finish Fido off, then weather it up a bit, and add pennants and flags as it's battlefield victories add up to make up for it. And if I ever get a second one, I can go to town on that As it's out and about, I'll take some more progress shots next time I'm working on it, which will be soon hopefully! Edit: Here's some pics of the gun servitor assembly and the re-assembled legs. I'm going to do all the screens and lights and things on the servitor area before I attatch it to the main body, and do highlights afterwards, as I figured the light would change when I get it in there and it might look a bit wierd. I've started weathering the toes and adding wear on the pistons and joints, where friction would polish it up. I'm going to add some grease/oil marks on afterwards to add a bit more interest to it. I've also added script to the little panels (don't know what they're for) to break up the model a bit, as there are quite a few areas of block colour.
