Nice army, Badger. Thanks! Really struggling to decide what to paint next. Queue is of course massive. I've not done any tanks yet I suppose...

I am enjoying making power axes so much. I used to dread trying to make my sergeants look decent. Expect more. Also my thoughts on this guy are no longer ambiguous! What are yours?

Wow Badger.... I've only seen this page so far on your work so I cannot say much, but thats an excellent use of a WoC axe It looks amazing! That is one of the best Commisars I've ever seen! I'm going to look through your entire thread now and I'll update this post Great Work, Dave EDIT: Wow, this entire thread is amazing! You have one of the most unique guard armies I've seen in a while.... I approve greatly I look forward to seeing the Army expand in the future

Paint the biggest tank you have! Well, I guess there's no harm in being a requests service: Next up I think is vets, as I only have one painted troops choice (half a blob) so far. Requests then: Melta or Plasma?

Great looking army Don't glue the weapon to the sponson so you can change it depending on you tactics each game. In that way you keep your opponent guessing each time you're about to play

Thanks! I'm going to leave this one sponsonless until they give us back proper Lumbering Behemoth (it was second hand so I had to prize them off first), but my other Russ hull (new format) has both Executioner and standard turrets, so I'm going to magnetize the sponsons so I can go either naked or heavy bolter. I'm not too keen on "surprising" my opponents with list stuff, we tend to play more tournament style anyway

Thanks for the kind words.
That's a really generous offer Major, but I do still have the sponsons, just not attached.
I'd like to say "Next up: Plasma Vets" but I have a super special extra secret project I've just started work on. It's got me all excited and I'll post a preview later hopefully.

This is a first class army you have here Badger, the Russ in particular is fantastic. Might I suggest adding some scorch effects on the barrel though, considering that the battle damage makes it look like it's been in the field for a long time, and some muzzle scorch would complete that look IMO.

It does have some already, I think it's the camera that tones them down a bit. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll take another look and see about adding some more Next project taking shape:

absolutely flabulous! can't wait to see what that guy is piloting! did you replace the sword with the axe or sculpted it?

I removed the sword part, cut the arm and hand of a fantasy axe and re-sculpted its hand grip, green stuffed on the straps/fixings, then glued it in

Truly epic commissar. No one would ever run away from a battle if he was behind them!!

Means a lot coming from someone who puts out such great work themselves! However, last outing they did run away indeed Not normally a poster of WIP, but I'm dead pleased with this and plan on making the second one before I even start painting it, so...

It's a 1-48 P47 Thunderbolt. The choice was made for me because I wanted the same size as a Vendetta, and the Jug is huge by WW2 standards! I actually really like it though, the chunkiness of the design means I'm happy with the way it fits into the army without too much modification, so it can keep the pretty warbird lines.
Fortunately I don't plan on using it as a transport! Next job: his wingman.
