Lol, I can see my unique flyer becoming less so in the future It's from ebay, about £20.

I think that one of the earlier version 'razorback' ones would look better than the 'D' with the bubble canopy.

Well, I humbly disagree :-P I chose this version on purpose. In other news, some of you ordered some "Gets Hot!" results: Next up is probably building the second Vendetta, then painting a) flyers b) tanks c) more infantry. Vote?

Very nice plasma vets. I like the different colours of plasma, showing different firing stages I guess?
Also more infantry!!!

Really love the Camo, very nicely done. The bases look great too, have you painted the gravel/sand? Or left it natural?

Thanks guys! Cosmic, basing technique is as follows:
Paint base dark brown. Smear on light coat of zap a gap, with the fine nozzle. Dip in army painter flock (the one that's the same colour as my troops). Watch as the CA glue turns half the flock to look like wet mnud and the other half as grass. Cough a bit, open a window. Add a very careful amount more zap (to not melt the rest of the grass) into the gaps where nothing stuck, and dip into a mixture of woodland scenics medium dark brown ballast, light sand, and clippings from conversions. Look for interesting places to add static grass (probably darker patches) and dab a tiny bit more glue, dip thoroughly into the grass and tap off excess. Paint edges black (I like black, it gives them more of a "show piece" feel.)

Badger, did you make those purity seals yourself or did they come with those guns? I doubt they did, because I can't remember them being there...

Hi Syphon. The guns are a lasgun/plasma pistol mashup, and the purity seals came from a friend's bits box. Presumably a marine kit. I put them on initially to hide the cut off magazine receiver, but then plasma stuff is all holy and relicy, right?

The guns are a lasgun/plasma pistol mashup... I thought they looked longer than the standard one. They're really good though, and I like the orange coils too.

I hadn't noticed the plasma guns, but now that I have, I can't stop looking at them! They're great!

Haha. Clearly if you can't see the conversion, it's worked well! I mainly just don't like the poses of standard melta/plasma for a gun you have to aim. Works for flamers but not those, so my melta gunners are done the same way. Thanks for the support! Lots of progress recently by the way, but left my camera at the folks' place so no pictures until that's back

I'm currently bulk painting my remaining tanks, so you'll get two chimeras and a second russ - but this could be interspersed with terrain and something entirely different that I'm keeping secret.

Beautiful.. just beautiful... well done!
I'd looked at the thunderbolt kit a while back for Ork fighta jets (before the release of the new kits) I really liked the chunky-ness of the model.
I really like the little additions you've made to the engine,
The rest of your stuff looks ace too.. much liking the commissars big f ' ing axe!

Badger, can you give us a tutorial on your plasmas? I'd love to use them too. "Badger" pattern plasma guns, aww yeaaah.

There's not much to tutorial really, they're dead simple. If you look at the brightest one you can see where the cut is between the lasgun and plasma pistol. The little sight is just the end of the las barrel. Trim off the las magazine and stick over a purity seal to cover the mess. You could probably improve that part! Unless you meant the painting? The trick is the order of colours - I figure with a hot thing the extremities will be coolest, so I shaded backwards. Eg paint orange, wash yellow, drybrush red. The Shiny part is black, drybrush gunmetal, highlight mithril and then some smokey weathering stuff (tamiya eyeshadow). Hope that helps!

A Chimera for my Plasma fellows (there's a magnetised pintle heavy stubber which I forgot to stick on when I took the photo as well): A Leman Russ with two different hats: There's another chimera as well, but I ran out of mud half way through
