Those sky pirates are looking great. AoS doesn't really appeal to me but looking at those models I'm half tempted to give it a try.

thanks very much. I wasn't sold on AoS initially, but really with such an exciting and varied new setting, why the hell not just go crazy and make something unique? pick a crazy idea and run with it, that's what I've done.

Minotaurs contemptor dreadnought Hekaton Aiakos model rescued from ebay, but with a few changes and fielded as a generic one, because the generic one, whilst losing the bonus invulnerable save, gets twice as many melee attacks. and a second

Cool dreads, it might be the angle of the picture.. But the second one looks a bit unstable somehow, but it could be me Anyways I'm looking forward to see what those beasts look like with some paint on them.

probably just the pic, it is the basic plastic Calth one, though their pose is pretty boring

I have caught the Silver Tower bug. wasn't fussed about it when it launched, but I played a game a few weeks ago and was instantly hooked. so I grabbed a set of my own, and a load of extra characters. good excuse to buy all those plastic characters I wanted but had no reason for. I am quite pleased with this one, probably the best model I have painted for a while

The characters look great. I quite like the look of the game and most of those new boxed games are very addictive (well I played Lost Patrol and Execution Force and they were fun).
It seems Silver Tower was more successful than most; it even got expansions and character sets. There's even rumour of a Part 2..

yeah part two is called Hammerhal and is out in April.
I liked the old Warhammer Quest, but all the record keeping was a nightmare. this system is so much more elegant, and such an enormous range of characters to play as. I do with they would add some of the resin ones too though, I want my witch hunter to join in.

The Tzaangors models interest me; luckily they're also in 40k now and have their own kits.
So with the monsters can you buy more for the game, or are you limited to the 4 tzaangors in the box ruleswise?

you can buy more, I might get a box of blue horrors and some Tzaangors to add to what I have, give some more options. plus you can add flamers, screamers, exalted flamer, skyfires, and stuff.

testing out a Kharadron colour scheme on my gyrocopters, really like that purple scheme. This has worked pretty well, with a lot less effort than the Eavy Metal painter used.

thanks very much. Somebody shared with me the eavy metal process and it involved three stages of highlighting with ushabti bone mixed with different amounts of 'base medium' or something, and it looked like a real pain in the arse, so I thought I would see if I could recreate something similar just using standard GW colours. I think it worked pretty well. It is a basecoat of Naggaroth Night, then Screamer Pink over that, and a wash of Druchii Violet. I want to try it without the Naggaroth layer and see how it looks then, as I mainly just painted over that when I changed my mind about the base colour to use.

a few of the bits needed for the next crazy conversion

That Gyrocopter looks great, those new skydwarves will mesh pretty well the skypirate project I imagine.
Looking forward to seeeing the result of that conversion.

thanks very much.
yeah the gyrocopters will be added to the Kharadron, and sort of be the overlap for bringing in the rest of the sky pirates too, should be a cool army I hope.
The conversion is going to be pretty silly, and hopefully awesome. I will probably order the main model for it next week when I pre-order the first lot of kharadron, we shall see.

The Gunslinger looks excellent. What bits went into that?

Inquisitor Greyfax is most of it, the head is from Statuesque Miniatures, the two pistols are taken from skitarii, and the repeater rifle is a holstered skitarii jezail cut short with a barrel taken from the ruststalkers I think

so my best friend's girlfriend is getting in to modelling, and is a massive Pratchett fan. so for her birthday this Thursday I have made hr a little Wee Free Men diorama of Nac Mac Feegle snafflin' a coo beastie. with the leader on bagpipes, and Jack Natter the toad. the cow is actually being held up by the four Feegles as they zoom off with it.
