Thanks 3ff3ct I try to keep my minis down to as few colours as possible to try and stop them looking crowded I've had no activity to speak hence the lack of updates. Below you'll see my lastest model, he's going to be the commissar general. It's probably the best sculpt after the colonel in the DKoK range. I was pleased with the way the free hand went on the Calgar model so thought I'd try it on this chap, the writing says "mortem in gloria" which by the google translater means "glory in death." Gotta love 40k!

The silver parts(sword and armor plate on hand) looks off due to the uneven primer underneath, I would suggest you scrap off with a xacto knife and retouch the areas; maybe a gloss varnish over the goggle lens, the rest looks on the spot!

Thanks for the positive imput. It was windy when I primed it using gw chaos black spray. Do you think that would have caused it? I'm mainly working on an Ultramarines force at the moment, I'll put some pics up soon.

I doubt it, it wouldn't affect such specific areas. Silver and gold paints get 'bitty' if they're not thin enough or applied smoothly, that's all I think it is

Now THAT is how Ultramarines should look! Seriously well done! I can't see three of the pictures though? Might just be my phone

Thanks cosmic I'm quite pleased with the way they're coming. Major Downer again thanks. I use warplock bronze, balthasar gold, gehenna's gold, a wash of agrax earth shade, annother layer of gehenna's gold then sycorax bronze. On the character models I usually give a final highlight of runefang steel. For the rank and file I usaually miss out the wash and final highlight. I've ordered a unit of assault marines so they'll be in my next update, time willing. As always thanks for the positive comments.

You've done so well on them, you should definitely feel proud. Looking forward to seeing them next to your Krieg

Even though I'm no huge fan of the Ultramarines, I have to admit that these look incredibly badass-awesome. Neat, neat stuff!

Thanks guys! I haven't bought any Krieg this month I want to get things moving on the Ultramarines. I've finished a second member to my assualt squad. He's armed with a power sword. He's made up of a mix of forgeworld and gamesworkshop parts. 8 left to go

Finally had some time this week and have used the time to do a few more Ultramarines. They're coming along nicely, I have 5 left to paint then I want to get the new Imperial Knight when it's released (loving the look of the Knights!) Here's the pics: I might raid my bitz box now and try to put together a krieg model or 2.

Ok, I've managed to do some work on my Krieg (after raiding my bitz box!) I've come up with two flamer armed guardsmen ready for the start of green platoon. Here's the first: I'll post some more pics when I've made more progress.

I've had a few weeks off painting and gaming. Now I have just finished an Imperial Knight model. Can I just say GW have well and trully surpassed themselves with this kit. It was easy to build and if you take the advice of putting the armour plates after the "skeleton" is painted it's a joy to work on. Now for the pics Now I'm in two minds, I'm either going to add another unit of grenadiers in a storm chimera or a load more deathriders (I currently have 14). Any advice will be appreciated.

Riders for the slight assault advantage. Cavalry are fast in this edition and hammer of wrath gives a nice bonus on the first charge, as do hunting lances Superb painting on this knight.. Just wow! It looks amazing. Similarly I love your ultramarines; they're so good you've inspired me to paint marines a bit tonight.

that knight titan looks awesome! will you be adding more heraldry to it or is it finished already (frankly it could go both ways, although the banner looks a bit dull IMO)

Thanks guy's! I put a lot of work into this model. It's the best I've ever owned! Cheminhaler, glad you liked the Ultramarines too Post some pics of your work! Hendrik, it's pretty much finished, I think sometimes less is more, so no more heraldry. I see what you mean on the banner, I may make the centre block red and move the green to the lower half of the banner. I'll pop a pic up when I get 5 minutes. Thanks again!

Really striking scheme on your Knight, Jud. And I agree completely: The Knight is the best GW kit I've had the pleasure of building and painting yet!

Thanks guys! Had a lot of real life stuff to sort out so haven't had much time for hobby. Even so I've managed to finish a heavy flamer team. I've got a game arranged for next tuesday, the group shot is the force I'll be fielding.
