@ Kirsten : These would work nicely, probs abit too pricey for regular marines but on Veteran squads and the like : yeah I will be getting some of those for the vanguard. They aren't actually that pricey considering all you need to do is buy five sets of legs to go with them, hardly any different to the regular forge world armour sets.

Well here's a quick update, still no paint. I'm busy using my evenings to get everything puilt and prepped before spraying commences. I ordered these yesterday and they arrived today... They're tiny rivet strips, and despite looking big in the pic, they are actually tiny! I had no clue what to use them for, I just like stocking up on shiny things that could come in handy in the future. Then it dawned on me..... For this commission, Ivory asked for some of the FW Salamader Shoulder Pads. However, being the picky person I am, I haven't used many of them, mainly because only 2 in every pack has the pad rivets that match the MK III Armour that we're using. So the rest are just plan shoulder pads with the Dragons head. As you can see though, these rivet strips have come in very very handy and I can now use all of the pads, giving Ivory the look he wanted for his army Cosmic

Wow that really looks great Cosmic! I have to admit I didn't have higher expectations than just one salamander emblemed shoulderpad per marine but you've once again managed to shock us with your innovative and perfectionist skills. No Homo lol

Thank you, Ivory. I'll get cracking on some more tomorrow. Foster is sending me some plain Space Marine shoulder pads so I can do the right ones, since these are the left pads. Give it a couple of weeks and building should be finished

Bonjour! I have returned! With bases!... Now, Ivory wanted some rubbly/battlefield/Isstvan IV style bases and this is what I came up with. As usual I have tried for the realistic approach and as such I used quite a few different pigments and colours to break up the rubble effect. Now imagine these as a group with the Green Marines on, with the gold of the trim breaking it up and the white of the shoulder pad designs? Sound good? I think so! But I need your input, do you like? Do you hate? Critiscm is appreciated Cosmic

Nice bases, are you going to 'dusty up' the marines feet to tie them in? I can really see from the picture. Dead gritty though, definately liking them.
How'd you find using filler too? All my experiments have been really really messy!

Frag it, hands down this is the coolest pic I've ever seen. I'm trying not to imagine an entire squad on those bases,,,

3ff3ct: It was actually quite easy. I will do a tutorial in a sec actually! Sweet, I ended up with filler everywhere! The missus was NOT impressed! Where'd you get the strips from too? They'll come in handy with future Orky conversions I think
