To be fair, if you were playing in true Orky fashion, all you'd need to do is declare "Sod dat git over there" and shoot every gun it has at a single target. Sod dat git ovar there and dispatch rocket Ajax to BRING BACK HIS BODY!

Do orks sod specific gits? Or just everything in the general (and possibly adjecent) area(s) The tanks sure look cool all lined up like that though.

I need to direct said player to this thread haha, maybe he'll learn a thing or two since I now probably know more about his army than he does.

You single out one git to make sure all the misses hit their buddies. Also, sorry to waffle on about it but you seem like the sort to offer friendly advice to peeps when they have the hobby angst.

I try to give advice where I can and now next to time I'm ready to help him out! Well, you know until 8th destroys all my recently gained knowlege haha. And never apologize for waffles, but seriously I do appreciate you guys coaching me on some orks. I learned a lot and I will try and pass that on to my opponent next time I see him.

An even bigger battle yesterday, though one that was purely for fun and thematics. This one was 4.5k points (non apoc). A friend of mine from northern VA (the springfield GW) was in town with all billion points of his space wolves and allies and wanted to play a big game. Unfortunatly my girlfriend had most of my army in her car at work so I threw together what I could (which meant going super unbound but whatever). My army consisted of Deathwatch with imperial armor in support and a single vindicare assassin. His had three knights, three land raiders with termis inside, and a bunch of admech support include Cawl. My list was something like, not going to bother with equipment and like I said, I literally brought everything I had on me at the time, the list is just terrible: -Watchmaster -Watch captain -Termi librarian -Artemis -5 Vanguard vets -2 ven dreads -4 kill teams -corvus -las razorback -kill team cassius (never taking again) -vindicare assassin -3 leman russes (vanquisher tank commander with eradicator buddy and a demolisher) -manticore -vendetta -basilisk -wyvern -Shadow sword Highlights of the game for me were 1.) the Watchmaster putting a single wound on the unaided Cawl, causing him to run and me killing him in a sweeping advance 2.) getting another titan kill with my shadowsword (now up to 4 in 4 games) 3.) killing arjac rockfist in a challenge with the lone surviving member of the kill team cassius (the Raven Guard assualt marine) Full army Deathwatch (still working on finishing) Opening move His full army shot of all his stuff (not just what he brought). Dude has a huge collection that makes even mine look small.

That is a rockin' hat one of you is sporting. Also, glad to see I'm not the only person who espouses using Loctite as their glue of choice.
I'm kind of impressed you guys had time to play such a large game. Is your store pretty dead during the day? I remember nearly dying of boredom when I worked on a Wednesday at the local game store in Falls Church.

That was my oponent (I was sporting an even more fashionable cap hehe). The store we were at was a huge flgs that has something like 30 tables in the front room alone. We were the only ones playing yesterday (our gw is closed on Mondays and tuesdays). But the game only lasted about 3 hours before it was clear I was getting tabled.

Fair play for having a crack at it, it's not easy to put aside the will to win! Great looking table and armies.

I want to apologise for the lack of any updates. Alot has happened since my last post, most notable to the hobby was a large portion of my collection being stolen. I lost nearly all of my guard (all but a few squads of steel legion and a single vendetta), my Lamenters, entire Deathwatch force, my knight, nearly three full companies of my homebrew chapter, almost all of my 30k Ultramarines, a bunch of my LOTR stuff, and my flames of war army. Losing all of this really put a damper on working on new projects. Lately I have been finding my interest return, mostly through looking at photos of people's 30k armies I've painted up a few guys from what little UM I have left (all that remains is two 10-man vet squads, a 10-man breacher squad, 5 man melta support, and the 5 invictii squad). So here's a couple pictures of the few things I've painted as I start to rebuild my lost collection. It's a few UM heresy sgts and a squad of vets that still need transfers and some weathering powder. i.imgur.com/KJ4twpm.jpgi.imgur.com/EpHu92M.jpgi.imgur.com/YIdjNG6.jpgi.imgur.com/Iplv1O8.jpgi.imgur.com/S3Xgnr0.jpgi.imgur.com/P40O4Rc.jpgi.imgur.com/i9Ay2Lj.jpgi.imgur.com/ztgunp5.jpgi.imgur.com/NdY6yGw.jpgi.imgur.com/Dy0fhAv.jpgI can definitely tell I'm rusty after 6 months. Soul draining.

Yikes, do you have any leads on who took them? That really sucks...
And if you're looking to boost your ultras back up to strength, I've been thinking about giving mine away if I could find a home for them. I've got too many marine armies as it is...

Yeah it was a former roommate who just up and left one day with all my models, tv and a few other things (along with his stuff). He did this while I was gone for four days for work. Not only did he take all of that but he stuck me with the next 4 months of my lease to pay myself. I reported him to the police but he moved across country so they haven't done anything. I lost 95% of all the models I lost since I started 14 years ago. All that's left is the aforementioned heresy 30k, some LOTR Gondor (my first army ever), my empire, a few steel legion squads, and my chaos warband.
PS: I know my paintings a bit Rusty, especially on the whites and faces. By no means blaming them but I do so desperately need new brushes. Gotta make a Michael's run soon.

what a scum bag!
I hope you do get them back at some stage, I'd keep a close eye on ebay just in case. I'm glad to see you're making a comeback and getting back into the swing of things.

I miss my guard most of all, sad face. I out so much time into fleshing them out both model and fluff wise. I had pages and pages of notes about the different regiments that made up the Tracians; their units famous actions, heroes, and origins. I wrote how they were all deployed in the civil war that had gripped the system and drew maps of the planets dating back to when I was in high school. It sucks losing something I'd put so much love into.
But I suppose that gives me the chance to start fresh. Maybe I'll right up some fluff about the chaos uprising gaining a lot of momentum to go with the progressed story line. That'll lead to massive imperial causalties (the lost models). Ironic though that the Lamenters are once again lost...

Cheers, I appreciate the sympathy everyone. But more importantly what do you think of the new models? I like sgts to stand out, even in a faceless legion like the Ultramarines. The one with the square shield is red marked censored as his the rest of his squad. They all have a random collection of patterned armor and weapons to show this off.

You’ve made me miss my Ultramarines! I really like the Sergeant with the half on helmet and checked shield. Also it’s good that you’ve mixed the armour style, makes every man a hero (as it should be!)

I really like the "not so shiny" blue than what is usual on Space Marines, it works really well with the White as far as I can tell from the pics. Really nice job and good to see that you are starting to come back to the hobby despite all that you lost.

They look good! The blue is a bit bright for my personal taste, but it is executed in a very nice way. The blue/white combo reminds me a bit of the Bavarian flag, but that has been an effective combo for a couple hundred years.. so why change a winning recipe?

Now live 5 minutes from the Warhammer Citadel in Dallas, I'm back. None of my models have survived the trip (I have some Empire and Chaos at my parents house but that's about it) so I decided to pick up some deathwatch and a 30k commander to get me back going. Capt. Artemis Ultramarine Champion (sword was a bit wonky so might replace) And some Citadel action. I'll take some more pictures next time I'm there. PS you can buy forgeworld on the wall...

That sounds... adventurous? Glad it isn't holding you back from getting back intn the swing of things. The captain looks great; looking forward to seeing what kind of forgeworld goodies you buy of the wall. I'm thinking about making the 'pilgrimage' to Nottingham myself, but I'd have to leave my creditcard at home or risk having to sell a kidney when I get back.

Sounds it! Crazy times. Good to see you've bounced back and doing hobby again.
The Deathwatch guy has a cracking pose, looks like he's ready to kick some xenos ass!
