I'd use Imgur personally, and do. I'm planning on doing some painting tomorrow and perhaps tonight if I can summon the energy. Should have pictures shortly after.

Is this thread restricted to 40k models?
Because i took the challenge to paint a 1000 models in a year, and am going strong. At 626 for the moment. Problem is that there are a lot of historical/fantasy models in my output.

I think it is a post what you've painted thread. Maybe not bodyparts but I think 3ff3ct is into that scene now anyway.

It's all about the sharing. Whatever you've painted is good for sharing.

That's brilliant. Love the shading on the white armour and the flaming sword is just unreal.

The TGG2 paladin model? Is there some conversion involved or is that just how she looks?
|
|
|
Post by Paimon on Aug 7, 2017 17:22:50 GMT -5
There is no conversion involved, it's just the stock TGG2 model. I was really nervous about the fire before I found out that it's very easy if you do the layers in the right order. I basically just smeared yellow over a white base, then orange over that, and a bit of red over that. This is the stock model (Sister Reyallia, Sanctifier of the First Legion) :

That fire turned out great! Rest of the model too, but the fire catches the eye nicely

Nice work, Peter Cooman. They look like LoTR uruk-hai kind of. Nothing is finished, just have a whole lot of WIP to show off. Chaplain and assult sgt Speeder Cypher and his old drinking buddy, brother Tiberius Squad Objective Marker WAAAAGH! This is from Know No Fear (as is the gaming mat shown previously) But I don't like the scale of the DG so I'll be sending them off down South.

Some really nice painting in this thread.
But isnĀ“t there some kind of rule against camo painting on Space Marine vehicles?

Well in Rogue Trader they said marines could use camo and that it was part of the Codex Astartes teachings that in some situations it was useful. And the Crows are descended from Raven Guard through their successors Relictor chapter, so it's appropriate. Edit - And this is the image from the first Guard plastic box: The long orange banner reads; 'Amid the weeping and the woe, accursed daemon do thou remain and rot. I know thee filthy as thou art I know'

some christmas things: and with much thanks to Reds for his fabulous box of goodies: all of which are very WIP still (except the reviers and chaplain who are probably as finished as they'll ever get).

The Reivers and Chaplain look amazing.
That background canvas is pure art..

the background canvas took about 2 hours to do, used quite a bit of acrylic paint and a piece of thin 2' x 6' plywood.
it does make taking large army photo's and battle scenes much more satisfying.

How do you feel about the Orkanaut having worked on the kit?
|
|
|
Post by treadiculous on Jan 21, 2018 17:46:45 GMT -5
The orkanaut fits with the new style of dreds and kans, and has a more contemporary ork feel. I removed the '4 big shoota's on a stick' which has helped me feel more happy about its look though still struggle to accept it into the family! It may gain a few extra exhaust pipes and war banners which may cure my aesthetic issues.
I'll probably keep the new range and my older metal collection as two seperate dred mobs on this basis, however it is likely I will transport the plastic mob more frequently as they are much more durable than the kans and dreds of old!
reds - expect something interesting to happen with the stompa pieces - you seemto have the same cautious use of super glue that I employ which is really handy for deconstruction and modifications. I've loved your details on the odd lootas and 'ard boy conversions.

I've loved your details on the odd lootas and 'ard boy conversions. I also use loctite, which is easier to break apart again. They're more fragile when dropped, but it makes taking stuff apart or swapping weapons easier when a new edition drops. Glad you're enjoying the minis. The Lootas were the ones I really had the most fun with.
