Thanks nutty. Luckily I've worked out that a 50/ 50 mix of greenstuff and milliput (aka greenput) works out a million times better, both for sculpting and Oyumaru recasting, by watching too much YouTube. The bad qualities of each are cancelled out by the other, so greenstuff is too hard, milliput is too soft, the hybrid is perfect. I have an old lead Confederate cavalryman whose legs have been stretched quite a lot. Need to recast those legs to make horat riding barbarian pirate ally confederates. QUACK! The newly painted metal explorer is by Pulp Figures/ Bob Murch. I bought the pack because of the bulldog, as I need quite a few guard dogs both for crew and Uncontrolled Creatures (basically NPCs controlled by a template sheet or random movement) and the rest of the pack are perfect Ruffian material. Ruffians are just unarmoured humanoids without a knife, only with a pistol. I've ordered a box of ten DMH plastic gunfighters to mix with my sci-fi stuff. I want some alien looking gunfighter Ruffians and then I can use the cowboy hat heads and sherriff stars to make Bounty Hunters.

Thanks.
The good thing is that games like Stargrave or the fantasy version Frostgrave can allow you to reuse old minis that fit nowhere else. I've got a very old chaos squat in power armour that will be used as infamous criminal Tamix Phage, for the free bounty hunting solo scenario that's free to download from the Osprey site - Dead or Alive. Painting a 30 year old model is quite fun..
If I get bored of sculpting or painting there are dreadnoughts to assemble. The new multipart plastics for Contemptors are quite daunting... so many parts.
Did anyone paint anything Halloween themed? I want to make a witch starship captain but waiting for the plastics.
