I thought I commented on Chem's troopers.. but I guess I forgot to send a reply. Either way they look really good, I'm always impressed when people lavish that much attention on a single guardsman.
Tread you've been keeping busy, lots of really cool stuff. For a minute there I thought the crawler was gigantic; as the images were loading in it looked like the servo skull on top were full sized minis.

@ Tread - that truck thing is just the bee's knees. It needs to be used as a firebase; would look great with loads of troops using it as cover. @ empty - the arm on Valkia looks a bit long. If you do choose to use that sword arm most of the forearm would need to go. I assembled a new Patrol detachment, which is actually a legal thing in 8th edition. In 7th it would be like... yeah just keep assembling mate..

@ empty - the arm on Valkia looks a bit long. If you do choose to use that sword arm most of the forearm would need to go. That's true. I will prepare to make the cut. Meanwhile I've have been trying to get through the first 6 of my GW plastic sisters. I don't have any white primer right now but that's fine for the Celestines since they will be using the 'elite' colour scheme of blue washed metal this is still a work in progress since I seem to have hit a motivation wall on them. So in order to make myself thankful of the GW sisters I'm revisiting some of the RH TGG2 models I consider problem children. First one's done and I've got the foundation colours on the next 5. Just need to spray the remaining 4 and maybe even the TGG Seraphim.

That's great painting Empty. The peacock design is excellent freehand as is The Dreaded Peacock banner. Got 5 more done to the base level. And found my old ratlings from 2nd edition plus 2 squads of Victoria Lamb Penal Legionnaires from 5th edition.

Ah from your penal addiction phase where you kept making more penal legion stuff. No, those were the beastmen. I made these later as part of the 11th Penal Legion under Colonel Palmer, who is really hated by Schaeffer for only doing half the job and then signing off any survivors to other regiments and going off to found a new 11th Legion. Plus everyone loves a Hardened Penal Unit Empty's Commissar arresting 2 troops for hiding in a box and failing to turn up in Cadia, when it mattered...

Great sketch!
That’s exactly how I imagined a hive to look.
The “enlist now” sign is a nice touch too.

i imagine the residents in this area enjoy this street for its particularily long view line, and that most of the hive has shorter streets and is even more compressed!

These are horats for Stargrave and a Pirate Trooper and Bounty Hunter. The bounty hunter is a GW (older) model so it fits with the true 28mm mature of the Stargrave plastic model, by North Star Military Figures/ Osprey Games. The hands and weapons are a bit smaller on the stargrave models but I have managed to get bulky GW special weapons like plasma guns and meltaguns to fit on some of the new plastics. Horats are common wild/ farmed animals, seeded throughout the galaxy. They are described as large, wooly rhinoceros and as there is no official model there are a few 3D prints of them available, like this one ; 3D print HoratHowever mine look more like teddy-bear/ duck/ unicorns, and there are more on the way in the horat birthing pit. New eggs are ready to hatch. I also need to make barbarians riding on horats, so it'll be great fun trying to make one with a tack and harness or maybe a howdah..

The Horats look good, sculpting a creature from scratch like that is no easy feat.
To me they look a little apish, which is not a bad thing at all.
