1pt for 1 infantry sized model and .9 for quality (the shield looks like it's on a rank and filer level compared to the rest of the model which is awesomely done).
1.9 for this dude (doesn't seem like enough, does it?).

Nah its close to what I was expecting ( shield looks RnF pfft  ).. I knew it before painting it.. due to it being a single model.. small model.. but it was a lot of fun to paint though.. and yes took some time but still was a lot of fun to paint.. Update time.. I have a 16 man League I need to get ready for.. goal is to have 2 full army lists.. with completely painted models.. I currently have my bulk troops set up.. I have my artillery set up.. I have my rare choices set up, but will probably be redoing some of them cause they suck.. But I still need to get another character done ( shaman ) or 2 ( Lord shaman ), plus 3 units of 5 spider riders, and I want to buy another unit of 9 squig hoppers.. but I need to still make the last 9 riders, plus 9 more riders ( cheaper to buy the squig herd models and make your own riders.. but I might have to actually buy the real deals.. ) as well as possibly finish off my Giant if I ever want to be able to field him in a fight.. SO expect a lot out models out of my pretty quick cause I have to have them done and handed in soon if I want to be even eligible to play in thie league.. which I kinda do since the entrance fee is 50 YTL but the prizes will be worth it for placing.. and I intend to place and do well with regards to the painting scores as well.. Yes.. a new showdown is being called.. sorry to everyone ahead of time.. but I think this is going to go faster now that we are at the end of the summer and the beginning of the school year as well.. will see how this plays out.. Anyways onto more pictures..  Yes.. not the best of quality.. but I did get them finished.. which is into itself an accomplishment.. next up.. adding greenstuff to spiders so I can get them done.. wow dude, those look really good in my opinion. we'll do 1.2pt/base since they're medium bases prettymuch, but then I'll give you .5 in quality just cuz the lil guys look so well done. so that's 4.8pts for the base painting award + 2pts in quality so 6.8pts for you! I'm actually getting a decent whack of marines assembled this week, I've been playing a few battles with my new dark angels and they've done admirably so far, but I'm spending alot of time playtesting and tweaking my list for a solid 1500pt list that I can use vs. all comers. I think I'll have about 13 or 14 dudes to chain paint this weekend (hopefully I'll get time to knock 'em out). I've got a couple sergeants that are getting new heads and arms and stuff like that too, but I'm not gonna claim anything for them since I already claimed pts for their initial equipment and it's not that hard to paint up a stray arm  I've got to get 1 rhino and 1 land raider crusader and I think I'll have everything I need for my 1500pt dark angels army. then it's on to 2500! (I've got 7 dudes painted that aren't even being used in the 1500pt list so that'll get me a jumpstart on the next 1000pts). at any rate, I'm still in assembly mode (I actually pulled a whole 10 marine veteran squad w/ bp/ccw out of my BITSBOXES with no purchases made on them! that's kinda sad if you think about it... gris, you're less than 1pt away from hitting the 200pt mark just so you know minus, you need about 11pts to stay in the paintoff and you've got till the 13th of the month to get those points racked up. |

looks like I'll have...*counts models*...17 models on the painting table this weekend, plus a possible razorback so that might pan out well for the weekend push! just finishing up assembly right now on the 17 dudes - I've got 3 more to do, then basing, then priming, then it'll be time to paint! ooo I also have my drop pod to paint! that'll count for something too I'm not rollin' over and declaring myself dead in this contest yet!! I also had a contract negotiation go really well for me so I've got $300/mo restored to my budget, so there might be an extra box or two in my near future I'm really trying to get a solid solid 2500pt list at least assembled by mid month so I can enter the 'ard boyz tournament late this month. |

I just finished cutting off the mold lines to 20 more spider.. going to attach the green stuff fur to their backs and legs.. then will begin painting them this weekend and next week..
Then I will have to work on the riders.. but they are not so hard.. except I need to then go and add fur to their shoulders and remove the banners while also converting them into either musicians or just normal spearmans..
Expect 25 spider riders completed over the coming weeks.. will try to get a bit done while my buddy from England is here.. but no gaurantees on that though..

Well I didnt get much done of anything this weekend.. though I was able to get the beginning portions of the back fur done on the spiders.. and am starting to work on the leg portions now.. should have them completed tonight, and then I can spray them black and prep them for getting the full work up this/next week.. will be nice to have 25 more spiders completed.. then i can start work on the riders.. who still need a lot of love.. aka cutting off their feathers and adding fur cloak/scarfs..
How did everyone else manage this weekend with their painting projects??

Been slowly.. and I mean really slowly.. getting the fur on my spiders.. so no idea when they are going to get done.. but they are my next task to complete before I work on anything else.. so yeah.. 2 more days till the showdown is over though folks.. who will be bumped this week??? Any takers? Anyone going to post something here? Man I am bored at work.. I wish I could paint or put together models at least while I am sitting at my desk instead of spamming the forums and playing my PSP.. Cheers Gris |

I at least based and primed 11 dudes today. I played my first 2500pt tournament preperation battle today with a friend - we're getting ready for the 2500pt 'ard boyz tournament and I actually won vs. his mech eldar! someone told me to park a landspeeder behind his wave serpent or falcon and man did that make a huge difference! when he went to dismount/move/shoot/assault he realized he had to pivot which meant the skimmer had moved, which meant he couldn't move/assault with the squad anymore HAAAAAAHAHAHA stranded banshees got maaaauled by my twin linked heavy bolter razorbacks then my veteran squad of DEATH. it was glorious.

nice, man. the rocks look a bit sloppy around the edges of the bases but I'll give you 3pts for the 2 of 'em ok?
that breaks down to 2pts for 2 infantry models + .5 in quality for each (so .5x2=1.0 in total quality bonus).
3pts total.
showdown is tomorrow, so paint till dawn minus, PAINT TILL DAAAAWN!

I agree that the bases look a bitt sloppy... *removes a few rocks around the edges* ...now it looks just fine  when is this showdown over exactly? the end of the 12th or the 13th? |
