I agree spacepuppy, I have noted that Mr Johnson has acted to save GW from some of its more moronic decisions. And I wouldn't advise threatening him with death. Cake is always appreciated to....

Cats.... CATS!! If you do that the IG are going to be removed from the 40K universe altogether!!!!
But the plan is good, and the people behind it are dedicated (hell, all IG players are dedicated)

Shut up rolling thunder!!! I'm a commie and I enjoy the hobby a ton! Really though, I would go postal at my local GW if they did try anything that stupid. I cant stand people who whine and complain about how the rules are too hard to understand, its easy, its simple, and unless your inbred or braindead I dont understand how you couldnt get it... It just takes a bit of time to read through the book, thats all But yeah, Jervis really needs to start enjoying guard... otherwise we're doomed.

I have a new idea: New equipment piece: emplaced guns
Allows an infantry squad to man a Multimelta/Battlecannon/Plasma cannon using a three-man team.

my ideas- AP 6 lasguns, for christs sake! they're laser rifles! a doctrine that allows anyone to get horses (an entier army of rough riders!) heavy flamer as a HVY weapon option las carbines maybe? IG army set! more weapon options for sentinals! can get aircraft without having to spend a thousand quid at forgeworld, come on! the guard have got the entier imperial navy behind them!

New piece of equipment: Flares (5 pts per model, any model)
(Parachute flare) A flaregun attachment may be mounted onto any weapon for a cost of 5 points. The flare has the same range as the parent weapon. To launch a flare, you place a flare marker on any piece of ground within the range of the weapon. The flare will scatter D6", and will burn for D3 turns (roll to determine upon firing). All targets within 18" of the marker count as being in daytime.
(Marker Flare). A model equipped with a flare may opt instead to fire it directly at an enemy unit. If the flare hits the unit, then all shooting rolls at the unit are at +1 and all scatter dice may be re-rolled.

You could make it so that one model carries the flares, and so a single model can have more than one flare. It should only be used in Nightfight rules though , and cannot affect models like the Tau Stealth Suits which although use nightfighting rules when being shot at, that just represents their camo.

Yeah, that's a pretty cool idea.
I'd like to be able to use different types of shells for the Earthshaker cannon. I.g. smoke shells, flares, plasma shells........ I've read some where in the imperial minitorium manuel that the IG use plasma rockets in their missile launchers in rare circumstances. That'd be cool and nice to see in the new codex.

I dunno, maybe the plasma rockets should only be allowed in Apocalypse. Maybe you should be able to buy them for a Basilisk company or squadron as part of the special rules for them.

I`d like to see a close combat squad that would be similar to the guys from Starship Troopers (the book) who were trained to fight with those cyber dogs. Maybe give guardsmen not acting as a vox, special or heavy weapons team the option to take a 'fighting dog' or something of the sort.

Sasha the Khornate Weimamr....... oh lord, but it had to happen.... Lol!!!
I think the option to use Cyclops/Goliath demolition vehicles (I can't remember which one was the real one and which one is 40K) would be..... nice.

the Cyclops is the real one. Anyway, I would like to see more doctrines. The scant few we have now are next to useless. During the course of this vacation, I will think of new doctrines that might be cool to use. I'll make sure to present them to you before I play with them. See what you guys think. I've already got one lined up: suicide troopers. I mean, if you get suicide troopers, you get a very different spin on the current IG. As well as the induction of the Abhuman doctrines into the list.
The thing is that I want most is more variation. You see, for all the uncounted billions we have in the Imperium, there are only two different IG armies (as far as I know). There's the Cadians and its knockoffs, which represent standard IG, and the Deathworld people. That's it. Wouldn't it make sense to have not only aesthetically differences but also functional differences? I mean, would the dregs from Savlar fight the same way as the hard bitten Valhallans? I doubt it.
something I would personally like to see is perhaps an army armed with experimental weaponry and equipment. Perhaps reverse engineered weaponry from the Tau, or even creepier things. You could think of fighting Orks with Orks. Imagine Ork-Human hybrids. Freaking scary. ...omg. Doctrine idea: lobotomised Orks. ...NO STEALING!

lol. I doubt it if the imperium would use them, and if they did as soon as they had won the battle they would probly just be mowed down with bolter fire and artillery.

i still think we should be allowed to fire on our own troops, back in guess range days if one of my squads was locked in CC and still alive by my next turn ( a rare ocation) if it was feasble we would miss guess on purpose to, land shells on them, should have a option to man your bassies with a commisar then you could fire on troops that are locked in cc and are so going to die any way but atleast you'll nail some of the enemy, but glancing back through the thread i'm with azlar, get the solar man back the 1st turn advantage he brings to the table is nothing short of wonderful. then if you stick norg dedog with him, you get a charecter capable of giving the likes of the new gazgul (who is nails if you've not seen his stats) and others a run for there money. so i say more hero's, more doctorine points, bin buy back if you use doctorines, fire on your own troops option, and that will do me.
