The following is taken from BoLS. Usual caveats apply, simply put - I never drooled myself to death. Check it out: ____________ Command Squad Boxes will include all the special weapons in plastic (1 of each), 3 different officer heads, several different close combat weapons (Swords, Fists etc), various embellishments, 2 suits of officer armor, one more practical one more dressy, and 4 Cadians with a few new/special heads. - The Stormtrooper greens with the shotguns do not imply that IG Stormtroopers will be getting shotguns, but are instead for WH Arbites-style Stormtroopers. - Stormtroopers will not be released in the first wave, but instead may be released with an Inquisitor supplement oriented around Planetfall. - The new Ratlings are nice, the new psykers, not so much. - Commissars still exist in a capacity different to what they do now. They are allowed to attach to certain squads. However once a Commissar Lord is taken they have more freedom and there can be more of them. They are also cheaper(almost half of what they are now). - IG Sniper Squads, in addition to getting infiltrate, stealth, rangefinders, and sniper rifles will also get camo cloaks. - Vet Squads probably won’t be upgrades for platoons. - While sentinels, chimeras, and hellhounds will be able to attach to platoons as support vehicles, demolishers will not. - Support Squads are different now and are platoon attachments not command squad attachments. - Basic squad loadout will be 10 Lasguns or 9 Lasguns and a Laspistol for 40 points. - Platoon Drill will require a vox network. - Some squads will have access to heavy flamers. - New Catachan plastics will have scaled down arms. - No greatcoat plastics. - Ogryns will be T5, 4+ save, and FNP for the same price they are now. - Ogryns have no new models. At least not yet. The newish ones are current. - Some, but not all, tanks will be able to fire sponson weapons as Defensive weapons. - Cadian Rough Riders will be in the 1.5 wave. - Leman Russ boxes will include parts to make LRBT, Demolisher, Vanquisher, and Exterminator. - Chimera boxes will have parts for 3 other variants (including Hellhound). The Chimera will have 6 variants (though some of these sound like they’re just different Chimera weapon options). - Basilisk boxes may come with parts for Medusas and Griffons. - While you’ll be able to field more armor, you won’t be able to field an armored company as part of the regular codex. - And while you’ll be able to field more tanks, the true strength will be the numbers of guardsmen you can field. 110 Points for 25 Guardsmen with nothing but flashlights. - The Valkyrie will be different from the FW version, but not any huge difference. - A Spearhead Sentinel is one that is equipped with heavier weapons and meant to be the spearhead of an attacking force. It lacks Scout moves or the like but has slightly better front armor and several variant weapons. ~Standard Caveats on these guys as they have come third-hand though several aggregated threads. Nothing here is Earth-shattering or in direct conflict with the earlier rumors we've reported. It is probably a good indicator of general intent of the new IG codex, even if its off on some of the details. The Imperial Guard are still slated to be coming to a 40k table near you this May. I'm just hoping those Ogryn stats are true.

I'll be happy so long as I can use my current collection without too much hassle, even if I have to change things around a bit.
heck I'm more stoked on the book itself than the charges to the army list, I'm a sucker for a good dense codex.
too bad about those stormies not being part of the first wave, oh well..I guess I can wait awhile longer.

Damn you swines I'd just copied this from BOLS to post it here!
I'm with ymmot - let me use my current guys (more effectively granted!) and I'll be fine. I too am looking forward to a nice thick codex. Shame about the stormies, but fingers crossed for the multi varient tank kits.

It didn't mention any confirmation about the 10 man squad box. I am still hoping that's not true - it will make it mighty difficult to play I.G at those expenses.

I think they'll still do the 20 man boxes because the 5 man boxes are snap fit.

Jeez...that's a 50 pt reduction for a platoon. That adds up to a free LRBT for every three platoons.

Hmmm. Sounds like tehre's some tasty rules. Plenty off additional varients for our vehicles, Character-based army traits, Platoon support squads, Vox-network abilities. When G.W. is bemoaned for 'dumbing-down' the game, it looks like we're getting some comprehensive, characterful and juicily complex rules!
Of course, that's meerly how it looks at the moment, and is subject to change. And one 'Dumb-down' I would like to see is the elimination of the advisors rule. I'd fancy taking Commisars, but having to buy at least two to go with the Command Platoons before they can go where you need 'em is a downer. I've never used 'em, but if those particular rumors are true, there's gonna have to be a few Commisars in my army, 'cos the models are great, the concept of them is fantastic.
And last thought for the day; it looks like we might just be getting a force that can hold it's own in CC. Beefed up Ogryns, Cheap Commisars, Tough-in-CC Psykers, cheaper swarms of grunts, and An awesome transport option. Makes it easier to take objectives, and to go on the offensive, and it's all still perfectly in line with the fluff (Guardsmen aren't being buffed up to be Carnifex killers or anything). Nice one!

The ten man box at $22 will probably be a better deal than the present set up.
If we get the heavy weapon sprues ($12) plus 7 mooks (~$12) and options for plastic special weapons (plasma gun, melta gun), that's full of win sauce.

I agree but i'm really interested into seeing how the standard platoon is going to come out looking. I mean if you have to have vox's for this new "Platoon Drill" as some are saying I would have to believe that if the platoon's are cheaper the upgrades will be more expensive. I just have this nagging feeling thats what is going to happen.
With doctrines totally out the window and this "Platoon Drill" taking its place I wonder how much those vox's will come out too points wise per squad. Plus How many squads will there have to be with the new platoon anybody know? I dunno I think alot of the new cheaper characters and Platoon's translate's into something bad. Strange days I guess. Plus with HW teams coming in the box, it maybe required that we take those HW teams for every squad. I dunno now I think i'm just ranting....

Valkyrie: If it moves more than 24" (possibly a metric to imperial conversion error) troops maynot embark or disembark; 12" or less troops may diembark with a dangerous terrain test Conscripts are gone. (This seems contradictory to the first part, but they maybe changing the unit up and the name, and the original poster sees it as that different). ~One, BoLS has heard confirmation on the Deathstrike, so I wouldn't immediately discount all of this stuff. There are certainly some translation issues with some of the special rules, and ranges during the cm-inches conversions, so watch out for those. Still, that is some really cool stuff in there. As usual with these, caveat emptor. Still, Heavy 20...thats crazy talk!!! One word: awsome! RT: just added in some details that puffy forgot to in his excitement. Also- bummed about the Hellhound's loss of range. And a link belloflostsouls.blogspot.com/

Yah, but you can get three heavy weapons from that sprue, not just the one. Now your going to have an abundance of spare Heavy weapons lying around.
And the news: I think I'm in love. Games workshop may consider themselves forgiven unless they really mess up the infantry.

This looks to be transfered from BoLS. The original text has some additional details on the stats (The Chem Cannon details, for example, have been mis-translated and it actually sounds alarmingly dangerous on the original report on BoLS). Looks like it comes from a Spanish source, according to BoLS. Wow, this stuff sounds like it's gonna be good if even half of it is true. So many options! So many toys! The onky drawback will be that the enemy will have no idea what they're going to be facing, and there's so much good stuff to choose from for our army, we won't want to leave anything out!If it's true. Finally, if you head over to BoLS to check this out, scroll down and check out the Brass Scorpion pics. Yeah, it's a spikey-boy toy but it. Looks. Amazing.

All LR varienst have 13 side armour "All Leman Russ: Move 6" and fire all weapons" ;D ;D ;D ;D (need more demolishers) "Punisher Gatling Cannon 24" S5 AP- Heavy 20" HEAVY 20 OMG"Conscripts are gone." anyone want to buy 50 Guardsmen.

Damn the chimera still doesn't get the autocannon as a turrent weapon. Well at least according to this. The camo netting must be getting a new rule aswell. It just went from 1 point to 20 points so it must have changed which is good. Death strike launcher...oh my... Sweet we get the exterminator I like twin linked autocannon's. Heavy 4 can't go wrong. Punisher Gatling Cannon 24 I don't even know where to begin with that. Can anyone say overkill for a standard game. Range 24" S5 AP- Heavy 20 that is just flat out insane but I like it. I wonder what this penal legion is all about. It seem's according to this that squads will be purchased according to squad type not platoon type. This is strange and contradicts everything that has been said before.

Well i am psyched for the new release! I am a bit pissed about no conscripts but lets see if i can just convert mine into the new penal legion before i get realy pissed. Other than that i have the same reaction.........HEAVY 20? What the.... If you make that your sole heavy choice for the game that 60 shots a ROUND. This will be the ultimate anti ork/nid weapon. Come to think about it anything besides vehicles will be demolished over the sheer volume of rounds coming at it. I don't know it seems to me like anyone who fields it is gonna catch some hell over it. But maybe that's just me.

What's in a codex is in a codex, so if people give me hell when I actually start killing some of their units I'm either going to peacfully remind them of our past battles (their kill count: countless, my killcount: 4 or 5 ) and then I will proceed to obliterate whole units of enemies

True that man! Man a battle against my tau freind have i only killed one or two of his units while his massed fire power leveled squads at a time.It would be nice to show that battle suit spamer the meaning of firepower. I still think it is a bit rediculous though i mean heavy tweanty? That isn't even including any of the sponsers. Well i guess the only thing we can do about it is our imperial duty and just use that rediculous amout of fire power to level whole xenos and herietic armies!

Hell yeah, man! Just remember that it's AP-, so even orks get their save against it. I'm quite sure that unless you're firing at gretchen or kroot, you won't be killing 20 units per turn.

HEAVY 20? What the.... If you make that your sole heavy choice for the game that 60 shots a ROUND. no. if you make it your soe purpous it will be 120/180, depends on how many squadrons we can take
