Alright guys, thanks so much for the comments and the tips! Removed - Thanks a lot, that's really kind! I always really appreciate your comments on my stuff @yeti's Yell - Thanks so much for your indepth comments! Pam Greer is pretty badass, so that's an ace compliment. I'm glad you think she still looks feminine - she's supposed to be kind of a 'civvy soldier', able to fight but not a professional. I wanted her gear to look like she'd scavenged what equipment she could and just got on with it. Thanks for the tips on the grit as well. At the mo I'm using dheneb stone / dev mud / bleached bone, but I guess it does look quite similar to how it started! I'll have a bash with some other colours, and see what I can come up with. I'll sort out her wrist tonight as well! @gabe - I'm really glad you like it! I thought I might have made a mistake for a while in the GS stage, but I quite like how she's turned out. It means a lot that she's matched your groove requirement! @er - Thanks! I'll go check it out Ok! Today's update, a bit of backstory, and another ganger girl. I've refined the fluff for my gang a little - They now form "21 jackals", the 21st training unit utilised by the remnants. New recruits wishing to join the armed part of the Remnants team must first train with experienced soldiers, and they are dropped off in cities to scavenge and learn to survive on the field. Murdock (the shotgunner) and Crow (shown below) are ex-PDF currently training the guy wth the dog and Ferret, the lady at the window. The remaining heavy and juves, (Skragg, Riff Raff, Coop and Twitch) are wasteland scavengers who wish to be taken back to Pinepoint (my Remnant base), for reasons that I will be explaining in a proper fluff update later! The 21 Jackals cannot call in transport until they have found something of value (part of the training, and due to limited fuel supplies), so the newbies are fighting with them until they can be picked up! I'll be very impressed if anyone bothered to read that, and I'll probs put it in story form later on This lady (currently going by 'Crow' - an injoke with a friend of mine) used to be part of the PDF. Her backstory will be coming soon, and obvs she still needs a base and here's a shot of all the gangers so far done together! As always, your opinions are highly valued, you're all wonderful people, I love you all. You know the drill!

Very nice, I like how all of your models have a distinct character to them. By the way, how many models do you have now?

igdude - Thanks so much! It's probably cause I'm just painting for interest / necromunda at the mo, so I can take as long as I like on each model I just counted my painted models and there's 57(!) of them, which is one hell of a lot more than I thought! Still, that's about 2 yrs scraped together time, and the paintjob on some is a little shoddy... Removed - thanks a lot buddy! @gabe - Cheers to you too! here's some (very early) WIP greens of a new scavenger / medic / heavy I'm working on at the mo As always, all comments, good or bad are much appreciated!

Your GS skills are pretty sweet. Only thing I would say is that maybe the connection between the 2 hacked-together guns is a bit flimsy - could do with building up somehow...

Thanks so much, ReWolf! I thought about what you said, and I've put a little bar thing across the gun on both sides - it's not that dramatic, but hopefully it hides the join a little bit. Bit more progress on the new guy (working name: Farrell), and a question for you guys: So new things are the finished collar, a little gap filling, and some work on integrating the two halves of the gun. Hopefully an improvement! The question I has was about the base, however. At the moment, I'm hoping to have him on top of a building, calling down to someone below. I think I can make the actual building part work - some scattered papers and supplies on top, a few rungs of a ladder on the side and some weathering. But the bit I'm stumped on is the 'empty space' on the base - the bit that's currently black. I thought of clear plasticard to replace that bit of the base, but does anyone have any ideas how I could give the illusion of air or height? I don't think I've seen it done, and looking at it now, I'm worried it might be impossible. I'd love any ideas, however far fetched!

perhaps you could get rid of the empty space.. make the entire base part of the roof and put him on the very front, looking over the edge of the base? and maybe make the base a bit taller so that if you don't actually have him on a building it still looks like it makes sense? maybe about 2x the height you have now makes it so he's still calling down to a man sized model if hes on the ground without making him up too high.

I'm really liking this latest scavenger! It looks pretty good for being an early WIP. The only thing is the base seems really empty. I think maybe adding some other structures to form a scene would look very nice to show off a splendidly done model.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I realise it's a pretty ridiculous problem Lledwey - The only problem with taking up most of the base with the building is that it just looks like he's on a high surface, rather than making the edge clear. I like the height increase idea though, I might try it! I was just worried people might think I was modelling for advantage... unluckyguardsman - Thanks for the compliments ;D The base is very early atm, so I'll be adding a lot more detailing. i'll be sure to get a post up once it's a little closer to done. Here's Twitch, my first juve, painted up. The pictures kill pretty much all the detail though, and I'm too exhausted after work to be arsed taking any more. I'll get some decent ones up once he's based. I'd love any opinions on him, and any more ideas for my problem above. Fluff update to come!

Scarper... air is air. Go hang off a building, and you'll see that there's often nothing there. I will say that that's a sweet plasmagun. My suggestion: don't disrupt the empty space with anything more than a ladder - having something there will take away from the illusion of a roof leading to the edge of mortal peril. That said, that's only the case when you know it's supposed to be a roof. I suggest inundating your opponent with a backstory for this guy until he's ready to concede defeat to you before you start playing.

You could create a sense of height by painting the rest of the building on, use perspective!
Although the effect would only work from one angle....

Wow!!! Where to start, so many interesting well thought through models!!!!!!!!!
For the plasma gun, over all looks ok, but the las gun handle and stock does seem a little small for the rest of the plasma gun, just fillin gup the area between the top of the lasgun part, and the area behind the top handle on the plasma gun would make a difference, you may need to move the stock, or it will look too far down..... but looking good.
The girl in the red jumper........ I honestly think this is probably THE best female model I've ever seen!!! She actaully looks like a woman!!!!! GW are not the best at making real life looking female models, and tbh I think that your conversion keeps the feminine aspect, while not going over the top and looking like a super model......... the jumper looks great, excellent GS work (I'm rather jealous of ur amazing GS work), and very brave for not sticking to the b00b tube the original had on.....
Fantastic work there!!!!!!!

Thanks guys! @happyorange - He is! From their scavenger range, they're really very good. And that's so kind of you to say! @req - Cheers! I've actually just cut away the black bit and extended it downwards now. I'll be sure to get a pic up once it's done 3ff3ct - That's a genius idea! Though I think it might be a little outside my skill range at this point, so I'll probs give it a miss. I'd love to see it done though! fatuous - Jeez, thanks so much, I dunno what to say! That's high praise indeed, I'm glad you like what I'm working on, but I think you're exaggerating a fair bit Thanks for the tip on the plasma gun too, I'll see what I can do. Today's model I am a little proud of, though obvs she's still not finished. This is RiffRaff, the gang's techie and currently a juve. I've been planning ahead though, and when ( if: serious injuries - please not a one, please not a one, please not a one...) she hits that ever-so-important 21exp, she'll look like this: Cunning, right? I'm a little worried I've tempted fate by planning ahead though - necromunda rolls can be pretty brutal... The only thing I'm not sure on at the mo is whether to have any hair coming out the back of her hat or not. In my original sketches she had a short style anyway, so I'm not too bothered, but what do you reckon? Oh, and when she's based up, she'll be ankle deep in sewer water, along with Coop, the other juve I havent made yet. Newbies always get the best assignments! As always, I'd love to hear what you think, and thanks again for all your input so far! Scarp

Yay! A Rocket Girl conversion! *Does a happy dance* She's looking good, but my only critique would be that her neck is a tad bit too long. Otherwise she's pure awesome!

I can't believe how far you've come. Then again, I can't believe that it's already been almost 2 years since you first posted. Man, where's the time gone? I particularily like Ridgeway himself. I'm mildly disappointed that you gave him a cloak, but otherwise he's my favourite. And the recent dreadspike gunner. Love him! Keep up the good work!

@trooper 1974 - Good eye, and thanks a lot! I'll be sure to shave her neck down a little before I paint her up. @gabe - I know what you mean, it seems to add a real pinch of badass, without really having to do anything! Thanks for the comment @vesuvius - Thanks so much! That's really nice of you to say. rarves - Thanks again! Really appreciate the comment. syphon - Thank you very much. I can't believe it's been two years either - though looking back at some of my original stuff, it does seem a little while ago now Thank you for the compliments, and thank you for following my plog! Are you not a fan of cloaks? fatuous - Hey, it just meant that I appreciated it all the more! Thanks a lot again for your kind words, and be sure to post your stuff up if you do have a bash. Bit of a piecemeal update I'm afraid - It's still snowing here, so I've been sledging, built two snowmen, almost crashed my car and joined in many snowball fights, but done no priming whatsoever. I have had a chance to sort out Ferret's base though, so hopefully her pose is a little more natural now - Here's a WIP of a gang leader I'm making for my gf's gang. They have a different style to my guys, but it's one of the most scratchbuilt GS conversions I've ever done. I'm a little bit iffy about her proportions, so I'd love any comments that you might have: And finally, today's other new model is Coop, another juve. In fluff terms he deserted the PDF after he was called up and conscripted at 16. After a few weeks on the run, he was caught and assigned to a penal legion. His overseer was killed in a rebel ambush, however, and he fled again. Several years later, he met RiffRaff in Ravenport. She disarmed his collar (though he still can't remove it without getting killed), and together with Twitch they ran a trade caravan between local settlements. All three of them joined up with the 21st Jackals hoping to get transport back to Pinepoint (the Remnant base, where conditions are pretty good) once they've found something worth calling out evac for. He is very close to RiffRaff, and his pose (once I've based him) will be angled on a rock half submerged in sewage (his right foot will be under the waterline) poised to help her climb out. He's currently an early WIP, but I'd love any tips you might have. Thanks for reading!

And did you just say "my gf's gang?" As in: girlfriend?
Why must you win so much?
