Keep in mind that most of what you're going to be fighting are Grots, so they won't be TOO difficult to clear out. Bastions are designed to not be flammable after all, so flushing them out with flames is perfectly valid.

As they come in and providing close support to the landed troops. 45 flak-armoured Guardsmen need to give the Orks something else to shoot at them to have any hope of clearing the buildings. And aside from my Tanks. Supporting the rear gate, or blasting the living daylights out of anything that tries to escape out the side gates would be best, and of course you have free reign over any areas we haven't reached yet. I have armour with both groups, so I can knock out block houses and strong points when it needs to be done too close to our troops for the Valks to do it. Reds

@helmian: Have your guys call in that they're in position. Ignatius: Once Helmian calls in, and your guys are set, have your Bassies open up on the gun towers, and have your infantry begin to advance. @tgs: now would be a good time to have your troopers announce their presence to the battlegroup via Vox. Okay, this is about as smiple as I can explain the plan, since there seems to be some confusion
After the bombardment stops, Ignatius's arty hits the walls. My tanks and his infantry advance. I blow open the gate. The Orks swarm to counter attack. RT comes in and strafes the Orks who have just left cover to counter charge, and Grendel and Kai's people snipe the Orks off the rear gate. RT Fast Ropes his people onto the walls next the gatehouse, and takes it from the inside. Kai's troops and mine move in and hold the gate, while the Armour and Ignatius' infantry move in from the front, pressing them into the forces holding the rear gate.
RT, once you hear that the Main gate is down, that's your cue to make your first pass over the Fort. On your way through on the second pass, drop your troopers on the walls and take the rear gate. Kai's people should have delt with most, if not all, of the Orks on the walls.
Ignatius, your game. Let us know when your guns start firing.

Man, I feel like such a creep for not posting this sooner. I seem to have lost all motivation to RP and over the weekend I have fallen way behind on what is going on...so I am afraid I will have to withdraw.
please feel free to have my guys discovered and butchered by orks/lost buried in the sand and lost forever...
you could even use their corpses are props! just think of all the fun you could have with a mound of dead space marines...
anyway, sorry for not participating... anyhow, lots of good RPers involved in this as it is... so I know for a fact that I will not be missed.
have fun killing them greenskins everybody!

I have an idea. Ymmot's guys crash and burn outside the fortress and some of us have to go look for survivors.

By the way, Ignatius-- whenever you post, also post the light arty/siege mortars hitting the base as well. Light arty fired from the basilisks designed not to destroy the bastions but still do good damage to the infantry-- think like a frag grenade, only much larger in scale.

Ok, i'll delete it, hmmm. Maybe i could use it in a story sometime though.
Lets just say my guys get killed in the bombardment. I probably won't play a very big part in this campaign anyway. More glory AND CAKE for KailkelX! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

TGS, delete your post. Everyone else, ignore it.
Seriously TGS, are you even paying attention to what's going on in the roleplay? Every time you post it feels like you're off in your own little world...

Helmian, go ahead and have your guys move in through the gate.
RT, make your attack run, then drop off the fast ropers on the return run. THe walls should be clear by then.
Ignatius, move your infantry into the fort behind the tanks.
