Well I'm now starting to research the idea of what I'm calling a Forward Press. Basically you get some defensive barricades and deploy them as far forward as possible. Then in theory you drop your boys in behind them getting them up the board and in cover hopefully within range of some special weapons. This is still in its research stage.

I've been thinking about this too Scenario 1 - Set up the Aegis D/Line with a Quad Cannon in a box as far forward as possible. Deploy a Vet Squad with Forward Sentries (or even Harker) with a few special weapons (x3 Plasma and ML Squad is my favourite) This would give them an 3+ Cover Save. Plus the Snare Mines would stop the enemy gaining their extra assalut attacks If Night Fighting is in effect this could potentially give them a 2+ Cover Save! Scenario 2 - Box one corner or part of the battlefield off with the Aegis D/Line and sit a combined sqaud of 20+ guardsmen behind it with a 4+ cover save And again, if Night Fighting is in effect this could potentially give them a 2+ cover save Also a neat trick would be to go to ground behind it improving your cover save, then using the CC to issue Get back in the fight the following turn, however I wouldn't recomend doing this if their going to be assaulted that turn...it could be...messy! Also a bonus of the Aegis D/Line is that its classed as difficult terrain, so against most enemies its going to drop them down to I1 for the assault....unless they have move thru cover in which case....your screwed! Just an idea I've been playing around with... Danger Rod
