Very cool stuff. I like the colour scheme, and those tank drivers playing cards, reminds me of a picture I saw of Soviet tankers. And the tank girl is great!

I'm really impressed in how quickly you can crank out such consistently high quality stuff. Nice work! I really like the detail in your bases in particular - things like spent shell cases seem really natural, without stealing focus from the models. Ace!

Thanks everyone - not quite sure how I've managed to fit them in with my current schedule etc... but to be honest, it's just a way of putting off painting the last squad for Red Platoon and the 3 squads for Yellow Platoon - the Red platoon squad is more of the same Cadian models *sigh*, whereas the yellow platoon squads are ones I want to do extra detail on, being Steel Legion and all...
Anyways, thanks for the compliments, more will be forthcoming (I didn't manage/couldn't be bothered to photo the vet lascannons new base), as soon as I have time/the kids stop throwing up/I'm not at evening school/I get a short period without agonising pain/not spaced out from meds/etc/etc...

Wooh, those are some excellent models Gabriel. They have inspired me to start collecting IG again. Keep up the good work Wow - now that's some serious praise, encouraging someone to start collecting guard again! Thanks Colonel Watts! Carrying on with more (hopefully) groovy stuff, here's the first completed Heavy Weapons Team for my first Heavy Weapons Squad - these guys are from yellow platoon, and are therefore Steel Legion models. Little bit of conversion work as I used the missile launcher guys arm to make the heavy flamer in the PCS - turned out as an unexpected groovy little conversion I think: As with all my heavy weapon teams, the loader is on his own base so can be removed when they suiffer a "wound". Hope you enjoy, the rest of the squad is in progress...

I like it! That's a very sweet and subtle conversion on the rocketeer. I'm looking forward to seeing more...

Bit of a departure from the Zion Rifles, but I think a little break painting other things can revitalise your painting efforts. So I painted the Honoured Imperium set: Not hugely innovative or anything, but I like it and it fits my boards theme nicely

Why didn't I check this thread earlier? *kicks self*
I had to stop reading this thread at page 3 because I know my eyes wouldn't be able to take that many nice models in such a small timeframe. I shall continue tommorow.

Another update is well on its way people - the third Leman Russ "Decimator" (used as either an Exterminator, Punisher or in Apocalypse/friendly games as a Decimator). Just finished putting it together, so there may be an unpainted WIP shot first later tonight. In the mean time, thanks for the compliments, and Valdordkok, you're welcome

Ok, apologies for not uploading a picture of the third Decimator, but I figured people have already seen two of them earlier - so I'll wait till it's painted. Instead, I hope this will placate everyone - I decided (for some random reason) to include a second "priest" in the army, and see how the priest would work wandering around alone, hopefully causing an annoyance to the opponent (4+ INV save, 2W, so hardish to kill, and on their own so you don't want to waste firpower on them...). Problem was, I didn't really have priest model lying around... so, I decided to combine a shotgun I'd made (for fun...) a few months ago with a spare Inquisitorial Sage model - I quite like the result, so Sister Natalya Amicus joined the Zion Rifles!: One day I may get round to painting the Guardsmen I'm supposed to be doing

What is it with preists weilding oversived weapons hahahahaha, but very nice for a scratch-made, and waving a holy writ/eviction notice at the foul xeno!

Gave, I love what you did to the army, but I have one major gripe: The heavy weapons. It makes no sense. Are all your heavy weapons gunners as strong as Arnold? Yeah, it just looks...odd.

Ah, the Heavy Bolter gunners? Well, they all have Bipods, but yeah... it would take a lot of strenght to brace from the recoil of the guns. They're just another thing that will eventually get fixed when I finish painting the other stuff... In the mean time... Yeah, they're all super hardcore badasses - Arnold's gene stock was used...

Latest priest is something special. I'd love to know how you did that shotgun, if you don't mind sharing trade secrets

The two-base idea for the HW teams is good, I think I might end up doing it on some of my later modles (If you don't mind that is)

Latest priest is something special. I'd love to know how you did that shotgun, if you don't mind sharing trade secrets I don't mind at all... but let me get some pictures of the process as it's far easier to explain that way Beav(burger): feel free to steal any ideas you see from the entire thread. The heavy weapons team's "double base" simply makes it easier to track the heavy weapon teams wounds...

I'm loving the Priest. That shotgun looks pretty cool, but does the barrel have a slight warp to it? And as far as the heavy weapon teams go: yes, they are all Arnold! I can't be the only one to have my heavy weapon wielders be pure beefcake!

Been a long time since there were any "regular infantry" pictures to update the thread with, but here's the first half of a new squad for yellow platoon: Yellow platoons Green squad (the first infantry squad of the 4th Platoon) - now just the second half of the squad to paint... maybe get that done by monday... A noteworthy point - these are intentionally not cadian models as their fluff explains they are a "spare" or "lost" platoon that got absorbed by the company... Hopefully all such things can/will be explained in a book/story...

Trooper: the "warped" part right at the top is where the shotgun had to meet the stick thing the model was previously holding... It's not that noticeable in real life... with my eyesight... Oh, and "Ta very much - glad you like them!" Bobulus: er... how did I make the grass so thick... I suppose it's a combination of my really old PVA glue ( ), and possibly due to the way I "pinch" some static grass from the tub and press it on to the PVA. I think that's how... Now, the rest of Yellow Platoon's Green Squad: (another home made Steel Legion Sniper rifle - that counts as a normal lasgun in game) and the whole squad: One more squad like this, a couple of heavy weapon teams to finish off the HWS, another squad for Red Platoon, and another Storm Trooper Squad, and then the infantry will be done (for now). Then I'll see about uploading a shot of all the infantry together...
