Levin ploughed through the undergrowth, slipping in the thick covering of mud, blood and the ceaseless rain. He'd recognised the scream of droppods, and knew that perhaps the battle was turning their way. He feared the worst for his teammates, his comms unanswered. He dropped as a tau without a helmet ran across the clearing before him - gray, alien and unprotected. He ended the warrior before it hit the treeline.
Moving forward again, he almost barrelled into a man standing before the wreckage of a battlesuit. Adley span round, levelling his pistols at Levin's face as his heart lept into his mouth. The man laughed and lowered his aim. "Good to see you, sir." He tapped the newly acquired charge on his belt, grinning at his commander. "Time to move for the objective?"

Jackson's blade pierced the suit threw the hull.... and it fell to the ground below Jackson... with most of his right arm missing he looked out the window.....
Space marines have arrived... but that wouldn't help.
Looking at the battle field Jackson relised he was on the TAU side of the battle!!
This opportunity was toooo good to miss
sneaking threw the base checking room after room and avoiding unnecessary conflict. Jackson arrived in a room he thought suitable.... packed with around 30 steel crates...
He used his bayonet to pry open crate after crate, Jackson tipped the materiel onto the floor of the room.
He then went into the next room and brought over ten crates to add to his growing pile. He also added charges on each of the full crates in the 2nd room and one the wall
After all the crates where emptied in the first room and the content piled on the floor. Jackson placed a charge he found onto the wall facing the outside of the tower Just like in the second room.
"Time for phase one of my plan" and with that. Jackson pulled set off the detention
It was a confusing sight to witness for the tau.... to see 2 parts of there tower blown away from the inside.... They worked out that it wasn't some accident when they saw 40 steel crates falling from the 1st gaping hole.
With a finale strong push Jackson forced the remaining of the empty crates out the first hole "Phase 1 complete..."
With the defenses confused and stunned he started the 2nd phase of his plan.... pushing the FULL crates with charges out the 2nd hole. This was easy enough although his legs buckled and gave way half way through, making him push the last of the crates out of the window. He crawled to the 1st room again as tau came running to his position.
Jackson moved the last empty crate in the first room to the hole in the wall. He crawled into the container and shut the lid. He looked out the air hole in his crate to see the pile he made....strapped to a det charge.
The pile was made from plasma charges......
As the tau forces ran into the room he set off the charge. Half f the tower was absorbed in a massive explosion as well as 20 smaller explosions from the crates he dropped into the troops.
Jackson's crate went flying into the imperial guard lines.
The taus forces where scattered and there tower destroyed. The battle was not done yet. However the casualties on our side would be much less now that the tau forces are as confused as a hormoguant without synapse...
The commander is still cutting down men left, right, center, back, front and above tho....
Jackson got out of his crate and collapsed..... Missing most of an arm. With serious burns over his body..... and bleeding pretty badly.
".....Medic......"
" ....For....the emperor......i need..... a ...."
Thats the battle over for Jackson..... as he collapses into a heap...... he hopes that dam medic finds him.....

Klivian was starting to notice the Tau defense was adjusting to the attack and that they were pulling back to a strong position, He led his ad hoc squad engaging the Tau trying to keep them off balance as much as possible and prevent them forming a coherent line. He unclipped another grenade from his harness and threw it into a knot of fire warriors. "Move up and eliminate any survivors" He ordered the squad.

Adley grinned.
"Rosh has a plan, go find any other survivors you can, tell them to meet up here."
With that, a burst transmission overrode all the comms of KT-154
"This is Lt. Rosh. Head to LT Adley's position by the second outpost. Target marked with green smoke."
Sure enough, a plume of green smoke emerged over a part of the battle zone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Corpsman Atan cursed when he saw the trooper, missing an arm with major burns.
"What the hell did you do you poor b*stard..."
As he knelt by the troopers' side, treating the burns as best he could, he noticed a shadow fall over him.
Instinctively turning with a las pistol in his hand, he relaxed when he saw it was a sniper. Female, tag said her name was Kellet.
"Who?"
"The man you're treating. He's coming with me."
Atan raised an eyebrow.
"You honestly think he's in a position to crawl, let alone run or fight?"
"No, but he comes with me, or he gets left behind."
"And where are you going?"
This seemed to give the woman a small pause.
"I'm going off to follow my orders."
She jerked her thumb towards the plume of green smoke.
"Huh. Medivac eh? Well, go ahead and take him, I've got worse patients anyways."
With that, Kellet took the man over her shoulders, and headed off to the smoke. That fire warrior had nearly gotten the jump on her. Luckily, her finger had already been on the trigger.
"Kellet here. I've got Jackson, heading towards RV."

"Kellet, received your transmission and Jackson's. Inbound with meds, I'll meet you halfway!" Levin pushed forward again into the undergrowth. "What's his condition?"
He checked status of the others whose callsigns he could remember - only ominous silence came from Slyati and the massive comms trooper. He hoped they'd only lost their gear.
He stopped briefly to patch an artery on a sergeant who'd caught some masonry in his thigh. Bandages, pressure and a hasty splint applied, Levin strapped a bag to his arm and pulled him to his feet. He handed him some painkillers before leaving with a nod. His own team may be his primary objective, but he wasn't about to let a man bleed to death.

"Bad. He's got massive burns, I wouldn't be surprised if I just killed him trying to drag him back to the rest of the group, so he wouldn't get left behind. Oh yeah, you might want to check the lost and found. He's missing an arm."

"Throne! You''ve got a tourniquet on that, right? Use some of your clothes if you've got nothing else for it." He paused, almost running into a fire warrior that was retreating. Knocked it down with the butt of his rifle and fired three shots into the head area. He broke back into a sprint. "I thought snipers were supposed to be adept at not getting seen..."

Klivian was getting nervous, he clicked his commbead to the insertion team's frequency. "Killian to kill team, what's the sitrep, i'm in the compound with approximately 16 troopers, we are containing some technicians and fire warriors, but if their suits move to attack us we'll be cut off"

As Kellet saw Levin she simply shrugged.
"Yeah, but a badly burned trooper missing an arm is usually not standard equipment for us either."
-----------------------------------------------------------
Rosh replied, although he knew Klivian wouldn't like it.
"Get them back to our lines if possible, but if not, you get here. If choose to stay, you will be left behind, and stuck with whatever force they are from. Do not take that as a threat, it is only a fact that you should know before you make your decision. I recommend trying to get them secure in our lines."

"understood sir." Klivian checked Rosh's location on the his auspex, not too far. "Ok men fallback detail along the south-westerly axis, 8 by 8 one team covers one moves back, nice game of leapfrog"
Klivian clicked rosh's frequency back over. "Coming your way sir along the South-Westerly Axis would be obliged for any cover".

"Alright, alright. Throne, you're a mess. What the hell have you done to yourself, Jackson? Can you hear me?" No response. Levin turned to Kellet as he pulled kit from his bag. "Where'd you find him? And that's not yours, I hope." He gestured backhandedly at the viscera covering the sniper as he found IV access on the wounded man. His medscanner showed Jackson's blood pressure was dangerously low, the blood loss and fluid accumulation around his burns taking a serious toll.
Kellet laughed. "Think of it as improvised camouflage. And there was another doc working on him near the other outpost." She dropped to one knee, scanning the area. "Can we hurry this up?"
"He didn't make much effort..." muttered Levin. He checked Jackson's pupillary reflex - still active. Always a good sign. "This is so much easier when they still have two goddamn eyes." He heard Kellet fire a couple of shots behind him, an irritated exhale following the alien gurgle from the bushes before them. "I know, I know. I'm doing just enough to keep him going to the RV." He'd replaced some fluids, applied salve to his burns and used all the synthskin he had on him to seal the bleeding as much as possible. The rest would have to wait. He wrenched him up on his shoulder and set off back in the direction of the RV.
"You coming, Kellet? Jackson could use a hand..."

Alexei had lost sight of his team, and the only thing he could see now was the enemy troops rallying forth. He came up from his crouch and started firing in bursts as he sprinted along the treeline and through the damp leaves on the ground, towards the green smoke. A few firewarriors had taken and interest in him and started chasing him with shots. They didn't last long as he took them down with one full burst of fire.

Shots whipped around Klivian and his men, the Tau had realised they were pulling back and were pushing them hard. Klivian started to move towards the next piece of cover, he didn't notice the displaced air, in fact he didn't notice the stealth suited Tau until Klivian had ran directly into him. Klivian and the tau, he cursed as he fumbled on the ground with a half seen enemy. Then he found the the trigger of his carbine and squeezed the trigger emptying the clip into the battle suit at point blank range.

Lance saw a grouping of people fighting the heretical Tau, his burned and rent armour glistening is the pale light. He ran up to one of the tau, chainsword screaming madly as he bisected the creature. He raised the chainsword again and swung it down at a shimmering area. The blade stopped. Lance frowned inside his helmet. He unhooked his Hell-pistol and placed it with a clack against the Stealth suit. His voice came in as a growl. "Prepare to die for the glory of the Emperor." and fired off three rounds. He walked ran over to a man in Elysian armour and hunkered down next to him. "Emperor be praised. Ferrus Manus guided me to bring salvation and death to his enemies. I'm Sergeant Lance Maxis." The brother-sergeant looked at him and attempted a smile. This however was a completely pointless gesture as he was wearing his helmet.

Klivian heard the officer talking but paid him no real heed. "Team 1 is in position, team 2 move now we'll cover you"
Klivian rested his rifle and opened fire at the looming Tau. Then he heard sound like paper tearing and lines of fire appeared in the air.
"RAILGUN" He belowed.
Klivian couldn't see the shooter.
"Damnit fall back at all speed, make for the RV"
Klivian span around and began to run at full pace, he'd seen what the Tau hyper-velocity could do, he'd seen the Valkyrie go down as he fell from it, the only survivor due to his closeness to the open door.

"Railguns eh? That could prove a problem." Lance was muttering to himself. He hefted the grenade launcher and looked into the scope. He saw several bright lights and ducked. "Dalc! Sir, they're not guns, they're rifles! Railrifles! Sir, I hope you don't mind if I assign myself under your command?" He hefted the grenade launcher and rushed along side him, firing off a frag granade in their direction.

"Don't break cover men, just move fast and watch the flank we're too strung out here we need to consolidate with the rest of the line" Klivian was proud of his scratch unit, even the newcomer was being useful.

A trooper sniggered at the newcomer's statement.
"A rifle's a type of gun, oh wise one..."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kellet shrugged.
"Might as well, I've got nothing better to do."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Everyone, you have 5 minutes, then we're launching the plan without you."

"Crud..... i feel like V-28...."
Half asleep in pain Jackson scanned around the area.....
He was on someones shoulder......
They where heading to green smoke......
Some sort of.... high powered.... weapon was shooting over them ......
They needed cover.....
Jackson reached down and un-hooked his grenade belt....the frags .... the poison gas' and also the mines.
He dropped them on the path and unclipped the shotgun from his leg strap...... and just before he went out of sight he fired a shot using his electronic eye to aim for him..... he normally hated doing that but hi other eye had too much blood on it......
He fired his shotgun blowing the belt threw the trees......
The there was an explosion behind them as poison gas covered the retreat. Forcing the kroot back and stunning the turret crew....
(OOC: rail-rifles need crews right?)

Jackson was conscious again, though Emperor knew how. Levin had just begun to tell the man that he'd be ok and to stop squirming when his weapon went off and something exploded right behind them. Picking himself off the ground, he pulled shrapnel out of his armour and looked himself over. It sounded like someone was screaming in both ears, and all the battlefield noise had vanished. Not a good sign. "Emperor's name!" He yelled. "Couldn't you just have stayed unconscious?" Kellet appeared over him, mouthing something. "What? I can't hear you!" She looked exasperated and pulled him to his feet. Something sharp tore at his leg with each step as he searched for Jackson. The screams had been replaced with a sound like rushing air, but Rutteau was trying to ignore the fact that he couldn't hear. It was probably temporary. He hoped to the emperor that it was temporary.
Jackson was lying, again unconscious, at the foot of a tree. Resisting the urge to kick him, Levin looked him over again. Cuts, grazes and most likely a broken fibula, but no new life threatening injuries. He drew a splint from his pack, but Kellet put her hand on his shoulder, a stern but understanding look on her face. "No time." She mouthed. She pulled Jackson up onto her shoulder and started dragging him back towards Rosh. Levin limped behind. The smoke was less than 100 metres from their position, and if it wasn't for the trees, they'd already be able to see the rest of their team. In less than a minute, they'd be there.

"Damn what happened to him?" He asked Levin.

After asking him to repeat himself three or four times, Levin finally worked out what the Elysian was asking him. His hearing was improving, though, thank the Emperor.
"You'll have to ask Kellet," he replied. "She saved the poor guy. Seems like he was pretty desperate to get killed either way." He winced as a sharp pain shot right up his leg. Poor bastard had probably been delirious, he reminded himself.

Imperial ground command elements this is Navy support element Kilo-Two-Niner.
I have supporting air units prepped for ground support duties.
Feel free to call on our support but we do only have limited heavy munitions, so bear that in mind.
Please Respond. Over.
