Hey everyone this is my first post here on this board. Finally I found a primarily IG forum with alot of cool stuff on it. Anyways the following pics are of my 2000 pts army WIP. Coming up with fluff for it as I'm getting done with it. I started this army about a year ago as my first army that wasn't just basecoated (flatcolour). I finally decided to step up my painting skills and put more effort into it my painting by putting highlights, shade and basing etc. Most of the progess has been made recently though and would like any comments or critques (be nice though, I have feelings too.lol) if anyones willing. Army Pic Comany Command Squad featuring a young version of Creed and some guardsmen Stormtroopers and Guardsmen Pics of special weapons close ups of my bodyguard for creed and some Sergeants. Pics of my storm troopers. Thanks for looking.

I think everything looks great! It all looks really smooth. I'd put a wash on the clothes to make the raceses darker. The faces are awesome. I'd like to see more.

Thanks for the comments Robert. The fatigues have a graveyard earth basecoat with kommando khaki over that. I was thinking of putting a delvan mud or orgyn flesh wash over the GE before putting on the KK for more contrast. What do you think would be good? Heres a cadian marbo I did for a local painting competition. Heres a pic of more vets (one has a delvan mud wash over basecoat.)

I wish I could paint flesh like you do. Instead, I avoid flesh whenever I can!

It's not that hard. You just need steady hands! Guardsmantorres,I personally just use a waterdowned black ink for everything. To me, it looks fine.

Hey guys thanks for the comments. Here's a pic of a test model I did prior to going forth will the majority paint scheme I now have. Pretty much the same as now however on the fatigues I went Graveyard earth basecoat , then layered over with desert yellow trying to leave GE in only the most recessed areas and then I layered on Kommando Khaki over that. I might go back to this color scheme although it might take longer to pump em out due to the extra desert yellow layer.

Hey everyone, Here is some pics of some storm troopers I'm almost done with. I gotta do the backpacks still and I'm hoping to do some lens reflections on on the visors, not sure if i should go with snot green or scopion green for that (dark angels basecoat). What do you guys think? Heres also my Company Commander for my second Company Command Squad. Still need to do the color on the collar in order for it do be complete. Any comments and suggestions appreciated. Thanks for looking.

I really like the Karskin. I need to get some myself. Whenever I want to do lenses I don't like to use a color that is close to the actual color of the armour. So, I always go for a blue. That's just me. I do it for contrast.

Thank you Commissar19, I have a couple Chimeras painted for the most part , however i don't know if I wanna go with a Dark Angels Green basecoat or a Catachan Green Basecoat for my armour. Most of my tanks are already basecoated catachan green. The theme for my army is a company of the cadian 8th that is specialized for Urban combat, so I don't plan on having many heavy tanks mainly chimeras and sentinels and lots of infantry on foot. I'll be posting some tank pics up soon.

They're looking nice, but have you considered drilling out the barrels on your weapons? Having the barrels just being a solid mass detracts from what is otherwise a very good paint job.

Thanks for the comment and suggestion. To be honest I haven't thought about it but now that you mention it, that does sound like a really good idea. What do you recommend when it comes to drilling?

A pin vice drill with a variety of different sized drill bits is generally the best tool for drilling out the barrels on weapons. You can get the GW hobby drill, or probably find them for less at local hobby shops. The GW one, IIRC doesn't come with the best selection of bits, so finding one at a hobby shop may be the way to go.

I got a good one off ebay, and you can bulk buy tiny drill bits too, which is great as I always seem to lose them!

Is there any powered pin drills? Because I had a bad experience before involving a GW pin vice and a lictor years ago I know ive seen em before but not sure where to get one or whats a good price for em.

Hmmm... I'm not sure if there are any powered pin vice drills or not. However, for working on plastic and doing delicate stuff like drilling out weapon barrels, my instinct would be to avoid a powered tool. I think you'd get better control using just your hands...

Yeah, Lictors are a royal pain in the rear to assemble. I'm sure that when I moved, mine probably broke. I haven't even opened the box that my 'nids are in... I've got to say that working towards the goal of being able to field nine Basilisks is a worthy one. I probably am saying this because I am doing the same thing. I picked up some of the Apocalypse formation boxes a while back. Currently I've got one finished Basilisk, and two in progress, which I should probably get around to finishing some day. The thought of all of those blast templates makes me giddy! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Hey everyone, here's an update, this time its one of my Regimental Standard Bearers. The guardsman is done for the most part, most of the work left to do is on the banner itself. Gonna try doing NMM for the gold parts on the banner by following a tutorial from white dwarf. So here we go............ By daonemdt at 2011-02-23 By daonemdt at 2011-02-23 Thanks for looking. P.S.: Finally figured out how to post pics other than through thumbnail links. ;D

Hey everyone, been awhile since i last posted but I've manage to make some progress on my army in the mean time. Since last time I've posted I've come to realize that Penal Legion can be an effective unit if used appropriately and combined with my love of the Catachan theme and fluff, decided that they would be a perfect unit to represent some of the qualities of the Imperium's baddest Jungle fighting troops at it's disposal. So I am in the progress of build two units of jungle fighters to represent the jungle fighters. Here are two of my jungle fighters so far..... By daonemdt at 2011-04-24 Some more WIP Storm Troopers..... By daonemdt at 2011-04-24 More to come soon. (hopefully soon.... ;D)
