Played an 1850 game against Night Lord themed Chaos.
All my Immortals came back to life, the Annihilation Barge eats through transports and I only lost Eight Scarab Swarms, after they ate through a Rhino, Defiler and Berserker prone Dreadnought.
All in all, I'm definitely loving my new Fighty Robots.

So this is date rape then or is it serial killer rape? Rook is a man of many and sundry talents. He can make it both. Simultaneously.

Obscura: Nice! Have you tried out a Doomsday Ark yet? If so, how does it perform?
I'm definitely looking forward to breaking out my 'Crons and getting some games in with them... Currently I'm repainting my Monolith from an all rusty metal scheme, to black with green highlights for the bulk of the model, with some rusty metal elements to tie it in with my infantry.

I haven't tried the Ark yet, I'm not really keen on it's use as I like to move and shoot, not really one for static gunlines. Right now I'm kind of looking forward to the Doom Scythe.

So it will have to be up to me then, with my cool modified Doomsday Ark, to see how it performs...

played a decent game versus demons, and man do mindshackle scarabs rule. Any assualt with them had them causing the demons to attack their friends or standing there with a thumb up their butt. LOL

I think that you mean Rape Me. Much nicer. Heresy! Nirvana ruled... ... ... I really, really wish that Bloodswarm scarabs weren't a special character only wargear item limited to the Stormlord. I don't want to use special characters in my 'Cron army, but they would be such a useful item for bringing in my Flayed Ones...

Scarab shenanigans! This article opens up a huge can of worms... I wonder how long until the 'Crons will be getting a FAQ to address the issues discussed?

I have eaten through so many vehicles with Scarabs, sure, it takes me a couple turns to scuttle them forward to vehicles, but once I surround them with a couple teams of ten, whatever they strike gets turned into atomic piles of poo.
In so far, they've eaten through.

This really needs addressing. Until that time, I shall continue to work on my time-machine, which will allow me to travel back in time and kill John Connor. I mean, Matt Ward.
Thus preventing several years of herp and indeed, derp, due to his malign influence.

If so, what's the ratio between the two methods?

If so, what's the ratio between the two methods? I usually kill them outright, I tend to swarm vehicles/multiple combats with two swarms. Oddly enough ( I just may be lucky ) I tend to get two squads of 10 into combat often and with all those attacks ( counting charge bonus ), I generally reduce them down to 0. I haven't had a chance to interpret the other idea in a game yet, but general gaming consensus for the 40k players in my area is that you roll Entropic strike after you hit the vehicle, reduce armor by so many points then do your strength checks to see if you Glance/Pen.

Yep, silly stuff with the spyder...that can easily be avoided by not playing with a douche...
as for the scarabs being the absolute bane of all AV...I'm a little either way on that one. It's not the end of the world...you just gotta watch out for them. Tie them up with infantry...hit them with templates, something like that.

They're easy to kill and the fact that they're T3 makes it so easy to Instakill them, I'm half tempted to remove my Destroyer Squadrons to put in Spyders to bulk them up. Would never do the Congo line thing, that's just plain douchey.

I wondered about these things in the back of my mind, but the "not douche player" in me rejected it before they were conscious thoughts.

Power gamers using such stupidity will be executed on sight.
Seriously, inject some common sense and stupid 'holes' in the rules are avoided. Do we really need every tiny little detail to be spelled out in black and white? Are we really that petty/pathetic?

Seriously, inject some common sense and stupid 'holes' in the rules are avoided. Do we really need every tiny little detail to be spelled out in black and white? Are we really that petty/pathetic? If you bill your game as one which works in a competitive tournement scene, then yes. You need to spell everything out in black and white. It would be naive of GW to think other wise. Sure, with a lot of gamers, they wont try that stuff. But even in random pick up and play games, you'll have people whose main desire is to win and so will use every tactic they can. It's still pretty ridiculous that (unless GW intended this way) within a couple of weeks of release there are already articles like that. It highlights the dire need for third party testing, as GW in house stuff clearly misses stuff due to having wrote the rules themselves.

Well, if you look at battle reports, especially the ones with an IG army, you can see that the dev team really doesn't have the firmest grasp of how the game is played. It makes me wonder if they're constantly experimenting on the next edition, and forget how to do things with the current one.
