My philosophy has always been: If GW screws you over, screw them right back. Ergo, don't buy their stuff [unless you have to, in which case, buy second-hand], don't use their rules, etc. That's been my policy with Sisters for a while now. Buy them from other players, since GW can't be arsed to sell them in squad sizes anymore. What's really going to make or break this release for me will be whether or not we get new plastics, or even finecast. I'll probably get a scan of the "Codex", since I'm 90% sure it will be better than the current one, but whether or not I spend any $ depends on whether or not new kits come out. Reds

"Dwarfdex," maybe? It's not a real codex and it's being published in White Dwarf, so it's a dwarfdex.

I still stand by the theory tht this will be a "get you by" list until the new SoB codex gets released sometime soonish. Until then, I really can't see much of an issue with having a WD-dex - infact I'd go as far as to say I'm getting excited to read it.

That's kind of what the BA Codex was, which is why I'm a bit apprehensive. Still, I'll look through it when it comes out. I expect at least respectable things, if not good ones. Reds

Exactly - it may not be an awesome Codex as we've come to expect from "real" codexes, but it should at least be somewhat of an improvement/move forward from the now dated WH codex.

Actually, the Blood Angels' pdf codex was pretty good, so long as all you cared about were the rules for units, and didn't care that it had no fluff--which given what Ward subsequently did to their fluff ("WE IS BUDDIES WIF DA NECRONS BOYEEEEEEEEEE!") might actually not have been a bad thing...

Actually, the Blood Angels' pdf codex was pretty good, in 4th And then 5th came, and BA got zero love until much later. Oh, and then the love they got was all sticky with Ward's hands.

No plastic girlies in power armour = MGK buying booze for his money instead. Nuff said

I don't know... My friend who also collects BA and I went undefeated with the pdf codex during fifth. Of course, since the new codex was released, we haven't touched our Blood Angels since. He actually started an Imperial Fists army, while I threw together some Crimson Fists--which have yet to be painted.

Oh, you could win with it. If you played it a certain way, and practically powergamed. And took advantage of the sweet RAW to have Corbs heal a tank.

Oh, you could win with it. If you played it a certain way, and practically powergamed. And took advantage of the sweet RAW to have Corbs heal a tank. And yet we did none of that. His force usually consisted of a core of 2 tactical squads with Rhinos plus a non-SC HQ. I usually used a core of 2 tactical (with Rhinos) or 2 assault squads (or a mix between the two), Tycho and a command squad (fluffy because my BA are third company, and Tycho was fairly useless in the pdf codex), and a Baal Predator or a Devastator squad with a non-optimized weapon loadout (i.e. the weapons that came with the metal/plastic hybrid Devastator box: HB, LC, PC, ML). No Corbulo, Mephiston, or Dante in either of our armies...

Your opponents must have been doing the opposite of powergaming. BA with tac squads in the PDF codex is exactly the kind of force that my IG would utterly destroy. And did destroy. My most epic win was against a BA force like that.

Well, true, the group that I played with tends to frown on power gaming. Or at least at the time they did. We've unfortunately acquired some new members who are WAAC types since then.

I picked up the latest White Dwarf, and can confirm that the Sisters will be getting a Dwarfdex--they mention it on the last page of the current issue as being in next month's issue, Part the First.

Well it'll be interesting to see; I'm guessing they're just updating it to work alongside the GK 'dex', so you can't use allies ect.
P.S. I expect this has already been said but I can't be bothered to read the whole thread and find out.

The ladies need their codex back, it'd be great to have a new codex for them I hope, though I hope they don't change it too much to become weird. Although I'm a little confused about the Inquisitors for they have put all types of Inquisitors in the Grey Knights codex, I wonder how they're going to manage this...

As far as I'm aware they're ditching the Inquisition entirely in this book and focusing exclusively on the Ecclesiarchy which is why the Daem- Grey Knights got all of the shiney Ordos toys in one bundle. Sadly, I reckon it leaves little hope for a Alienhunters/Deathwatch Codex some time this decade.

That's ok I suppose, although I just wish that they were doing an Inquisitorial Codex where it involves not only Grey Knights but also Inquisitorial Armies like those Storm Troopers, though I suppose you can make a Guard army to get away with that... I liked the old rules where you can attach Inquisitors with any Imperial Army, but that's now going to be all in the past.

I agree that a codex Inquisition would be a very good thing.

I would rather dump the inquisition into a much larger codex named: Allies of the Imperium.
In it you could put, assassins, death cult, militia, missionaries, ice-cream armed hookers and what not.
