Actually 3ff3ct I'd really value some feedback from you on my Ork stuff, I think I'm still refining the look I'm going for. I've been being too lazy to set up a proper photoshoot for my models and I won't have a camera to hand for a week but if you just wanted some different angles on that last lot of Ork vehicles I did take a few other pictures at the time. I still need to do some finishing work on this Battle Wagon. The original plan was to include more yellow and black but my sister has been making a case for leaving it with the stark, scrap heap look. I also had a go at muddying up the Looted Wagon. Adding to the mud effect is probably all I'm going to do before I call this one finished.

I think the scrapheap look is a good idea, although maybe adding different areas of rustier metal, maybe some 'scavenged' plates with random camo/colouring on, will break it up a bit. Failing that, a drybrush of boltgun metal will pick the edges out nicely Love the scratchbuild work on the bottom pic, propa orky! ;D

Yeah it is a really nice piece and I've only got guesses as to how it was actually put together since I bought it from someone and painted it myself.
Soon I'll have a go at putting some of my own together along similar lines. I just need to hunt down some thicker plasticard.
I'll have a go at some of the stuff you've suggested they all seem like pretty solid tips.

No worries mate, it just means you dont have to undercoat your models again when you cock them up like I did! ;D
Where do you get your plasticard from? I could do with a bit, I've got some building of my own to do!

I ordered some from Ebay but I think I went too thin when I was picking the depth. I've also heard that ModelZone sell it so I'll be looking there next, then back to Ebay again if that doesn't pan out.

Fair enough. There's a Modelzone in Liverpool so I think I'll drop in when I'm next over, it's always worth a try

Maybe you could arrange a game against Ymmots' purple genestealers for the ultimate purple battle?

I think we have three other board members who do purple guard aswell. Purple and Silver (I wonder how that project is going) Purple and blackRed-purple with greenI love how the schemes give a pretty different feel. Maybe instead of an ultimate purple battle we should get a rainbow Imperial army put together. We can use Cosmic's fists for the yellow.

Thanks guys, I really value the feedback, critical or not it encourages me to post this stuff and to try new things.
Right now I'm painting the stuff like the Burna Boyz and the Big Mek and a new mob of Boyz to use more washes on the yellow. I'm still going to try and find a way to make super bright shiny yellow look good on the other mobs though.

It's really incredible stuff, emptyhat. I love the lotted wagon, especially the wire going through the chassis.
The coinverted loota with an Ig autocannon is similarly great.

The coinverted loota with an Ig autocannon is similarly great. I wasn't sure if he was too plain to be a Flash Git so this is a good reaction. The body is from a Black Reach Nob and then all the rest of the stuff is/are spare parts from other kits. Sadly I don't think he'll make it through painting before the meetup. Oh! I was trying to work out whether to paint his autocannon as freshly nicked (gun metal) or gold plated. What do you guys think?

Those are lovely looking paint jobs... do the orks fight on the same purple planet as the guard?...
Really liking the Flash Git... a propa supa blasta dakka snazzgun! (are you going for the weirdboy flashgit painboy mob of doom and utter randomness?.. lots of fun if you do!).
Having seen these for real, they are an excellent collection!
.. that said, when can I shoot at them again?

I think a gold-plated autocannon would look pretty awesome.

I thought about that but in the end I went for more of a wasted junk world sort of theme, although with less piled up scrap (like 3ff3ct’s delicious bases (& your own first offering)) and more with a blood and oil soaked wasteland. They are probably in the same neighbourhood though since the Orks do have a few purple guard trophies slinging around. You’ll have to explain this one to me next time we cross chainswords, but I do like all those units so I might have to do it. I think a gold-plated autocannon would look pretty awesome. One vote for the gold: I’m sure it will either look pretty awesome or super tacky but hey it’s Bad Moonz.

I think the auto-cannon would look good either way, as a Cadian 8th scheme would contrast anyway (muted natural tones Vs. Orky garishness), and a blinged-up one would really draw the eye.
Would you keep the barrel as bolt-gun and do the housing gold, or visa versa?
