that bomber is huge!
i considered getting one from a charity shop last year for £5.. and thought better of it, however, I'd like to see what you do with it.
i'd be happy to see it as a super-bomber or whatever the apocalypse aircraft is from IA8 (i still plan to turn the c17 into one of those - i'm still waiting for my boy to stop using it as a toy first - soon will come the time when he'll want me to stick more turrets and guns and bomms to it...)

Chaos is rising and I have to pick between these two champions to lead my 500 point Slaaneesh list. And since I had all the sprues out I also made a couple of renegades. A fallen Space Wolf blood claw. And a treacherous White Templar chaplain. Then I built some terminators because Chaos terminators are a lot of fun to build. The 500 point list is 10 cultists, a lord, 5 noise marines, 2 chaos spawn and a forgefiend. I welcome suggestions on which champion (if either) is most worthy to lead this little host.

Looking great Empty.. Really some good character amongst those Chaos Marines. The only thing I could possibly say about the Champions is how they look. Slaanesh is the god of indulgence and excess.. And how I perceive him, possibly the least evil of the four. After all, he was created by the Eldar and only exists for that reason. And out of all the Chaos Gods, I think he would be the least likley to horrifically mutate one of his faithful.. I envision that a champion of Slaneesh would be very beautiful, kind of how Sanguinius was dipicted.. The 'monster' would be beneath the skin.. But, that's just how I'd go about it. From the two champions you have, I would say least mutated, with the 'doom siren?' Love the renegade marines too! Not sure you'd get that Wolf fighing alongside acolytes of the boob-snake god though Dave

I don't disagree with any of that, however. All Chaos goods do mutate and corrupt and Slaanesh, when it does has a very broad view of beauty. There are also gits like this Emperor's children model who look like they've partied waaaay to hard. www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Chaos-Space-Marine-Emperor-s-Children-LordAnd I don't have a pic handy right now but the Chaos Space Marine sprue has a Slaanesh champion head, which has a massive bone horn thing coming out of the head like a nasty cancer. The head of the more mutated champion is actually a Slaaneshi bit from the Daemonette sprue (the horn) and is going to look a bit more.... naughty when painted. www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Chaos-Daemons-Daemonettes-of-SlaaneshAs for the Space Wolf, well I think that every mortal faction could provide examples of people who'd be corrupted by any of the major Chaos powers. But in this case the SW is devoted to Khorne, which you can see on his torso.

That's kind of what I was getting at Empty.. The Renegade Wolf would be running round your back field, lopping off your own mens heads xD

The Slaanesh stuff is for a 500 point army. My main Chaos collection (I started picking these guys up back in 2002) Is still nurgle dominated/non-denominational. But mostly just neglected. Horrible paint jobs from college era me and cheap-as-free ebay stuff. I'm hopin gthat painting up the 2 500 point lists will help provide a core for getting them back in shape again.
Building the wolf guy was fun because I had the parts (I want to make a whole bunch of renegade kitbashes) but maybe there will be a 500 point Khrone force at some point.

There might be some sort of Freudian subtext to his mutation I also fixed up a really pathetic conversion my teenage self tried to do and had a go at fixing the paintjob too. He is somewhat less beautiful but was quite fun to make and looks a lot better now he isn't just a chaos marine with a seed pod stuck to his face.

Purple armour, bone trim. I wonder which chapter he belonged to? The filthy traitor, fifth columnist! His bones will be ground into pulp and he'll enjoy it too! Podface looks crazy. You're really making good use of the Spawn kit. Any movement on those dastardly, traitor, renegade, turncoat, Judas Iscariot, filth column, reds-under-the-beds, betrayer marines with the sculpted beards? Rolling Thunder wants to see them as the bitz used to belong to him and he's kind of into Chaos mutatey things. Is the Snake marine still sliding? The wheels churn on. And a paintbrush in hand brings progress that cannot be undone. This is excellent! Is it from a Fortune Cookie?

Following some of the TGG2 model discussion on the Caring is Sharing thread I got jealous and decided to take another crack and cleaning and building my models. I started off with assembling my Davidians, which felt like they needed a bit of work getting the poses right, and fighting the forced placement of the heads. I get that they are doing contrition, but the whole hang your head while your body does a crazy dynamic pose seems a little unnatural. Once they were built I realised that I need to test my colour scheme for my TGG2 models on some sisters in armour first so I've built 3 of the trooper models and primed them. Meanwhile I've also been working on some slightly more relaxed models, the madness of Chaos! [ I did a bit more work on the Hellbrute, mostly filling in the gaps, but also some head tentacles. Not sure if it is finished yet. And a custom Obliterator, maybe this guy needs some huge shoulder pads? Or perhaps a little more extra?

I demand Paint on those TGG2 Models, they look really cool! Did you get them in a set of Ten? What are the swords like, are they solid of delicate to handle?

I demand Paint on those TGG2 Models, they look really cool! Did you get them in a set of Ten? What are the swords like, are they solid of delicate to handle? Box of troops x5 and a command box x5. I clipped and mixed all the pieces up and just assembled them with what seemed fine, so there might be a mix between the boxes. When getting them off the sprue, it was fairly difficult to avoid damaging them because this first run has not minimized flash in awkward places. One sword was snapped off the hilt but I glued it back on and used it (the two hander). The resin is very thin on the swords, it seems delicate but it does have some spring to it. You might get away with dropping the model but if you hit it with a mug of tea you'll probably wish you hadn't. I do really want to get some paint on them but first of all I've got to decide on if they are getting a TGG colour scheme, or getting the same colour scheme as my GW Sisters. Going for the first option would let me play some Sisters vs Sisters battles with my sister, once they are done. One in the middle had the snapped sword. I superglued it back on without pinning it, the part is light enough that it seems fine.

Now, to answer some questions I know at least a few of you have... Q: How well do the heads work with Guardsmen? A: Ehhhhh.... They're not ideal. They're a little too small and the hair can get in the way of the guardsman's shirt collar. Guardsman bodies are also very squat and weirdly proportioned, unless you use those from the command squad. Those are better, but you may need some GS in the torso divot where the head normally goes. The Escher heads don't have much in the way of necks. Following up on Reds' assessment of the Escher heads on guard bodies I thought I'd try my hand. I used one of the empty helmets that I think come from the heavy weapon team sets, the eyepatch head and a bit of milliput. I had to hollow out the helmet a little more first, which was about 80% successful, it could probably be done better. I also messed up and left a line between the head and the helmet which turned out to be an excellent eyepatch string

Looks good! The best conversions are the ones that don't look like conversions at all. And this lady will look right at home in a squad.

Some of the stuff I've been working on: Filling out my roster of Chaos Space Marines so that Syndrome can be run as a 7th ed Warband formation (Still got the havocs, bikers, and terminators to finish but they are mostly done). I finally got around to shading and highlights on my Raging Heroes warboss, just need to fix a couple of little issues, like the eyes, that I spotted when I took this photo. One of the objectives from the Sector Imperialis box, probably the most boring to assemble but very good to paint. To finish it off I'm going to hairspray and then put over a layer of black or a bistre and then scratch it back off to show the metal work underneath as wear and tear. (Hope it works out because the drybrushing actually looks quite good on this). And a somewhat depressing project, but useful for sprucing up the battle field, civilian casualties.
